when I heard @klonick.bsky.social say "don't get me saying the F word again" during a @radiolab.bsky.social pod about content moderation, I thought maybe she meant "Facebook" but it turned out just to be the usual suspect F word

FWIW, I used ChatGPT to figure out the page number for the "She went boneless" cite to Knuffle Bunny. and then I doublechecked the citation format in the Bluebook.

you have to commit to these things.

Tesla's Q1 earnings were down 71% over Q1 2024. that's a year-over-year comparison, so saying first quarters are typically bad doesn't explain things.
Musk saying the first quarters are typically bad for his company because people don't want to go out and buy cars "during a blizzard."

the article is fine, but let's be serious this comment from the author about the article is even better
I want to give credit to my editors, who asked me to write 2,000 words on why Andrew Tate wears such tight pants. I submitted 3,700. They asked if I really needed to start with a story about the industrial revolution and I said "yes, absolutely don't cut."

OMG you should see what my kids said when I asked them to imitate me! blasphemy!
I will probably get flamed for this but here goes: The complaint here is that when you ask chatgpt to write like you, it does it. And poorly, and might even attribute to you things you'd never say.
When I left the Washington Post in 2023, my colleagues and I were worried AI would hoover up our work and enable "zombies" to churn out stories based on our reporting and writing styles.

Today WaPo announced a partnership with OpenAI. And here it is: Zombie Gillian Brockell. I DID NOT WRITE THIS.

fascinating! if you think you have a sweet tooth, you probably didn't think your teeth literally cause sugar cravings—but did you expect that the cravings are, at least in part, driven by bacteria in your gut??

I went to a lovely party that featured 10 (TEN!!) high end champagnes, but for me the true star was the tete de moine cheese flowers. the cheese dates back to the 12th century, but the girolle tool that is today used to create cheese rosettes shaped like chanterelle mushrooms was invented in 1982

Stanford Law's hiring of @orinkerr.bsky.social is a nice 4A pick up, but when will they announce a comparable hiring of a 3A scholar?
