Did you know student shower time tends to increase over the academic year? Timers were effective not just at reducing duration, but at preventing the gradual increase observed in showers without them. Check out Waterfall episode 98. Search "Waterfall saving water" wherever you get your podcasts.

Smart shower digital timers reduced showering duration by up to 43% in a University of Surrey study. This dramatic decrease was achieved just by showing people how long they had been in the shower. Check out the latest episode (#98) - search Waterfall saving water wherever you get your podcasts.

Great to talk to Prof Ben Gardner in the latest edition of Waterfall. It's amazing the difference a clock can make in the shower. And how did the University of Surrey manage to measure tens of thousands of showering episodes without annoying the students?! Listen @ podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/9...

There's something very British going on. On the same day as Storm Claudia dumps a shed load of rain over the country the Environment Agency issues their drought prospects report showing we're at real risk from drought next year. Of course both can happen and there's no contradiction, just ironic.

Pretty clear warnings here if we don't get enough rain this winter. Anything less than 100% of the long term average will be troublesome.
