Trump's Department of Transportation has been seeking to roll back regulations aimed at preventing pipeline failures. One such failure, in Danville, Kentucky, in 2019, led to an explosion that killed one person and incinerated five houses.
After a speeding semitruck killed his son, Gary Wilburn and his wife spent decades advocating for mandated speed limiters in trucks.

DOT proposed a rule to do just that.

Then Trump appointees stepped in, killing the proposed regulation.
How Trump’s Transportation Department Is Loosening Safety Rules Meant to Protect the Public
ProPublica has identified dozens of instances in which the Trump administration’s DOT has moved to cut, soften or delay safety regulations for cars, trucks, planes, trains and even oil pipelines. Expe...

NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

Tax the rich. Greg Ryan in @bloomberg.com:

Grijalva: "Yesterday, my race was certified, and so that's how things work. Your job is to swear me in."

These findings in the new Washington Post poll jump off the page: Trump is underwater by 19 points on his handling of the economy (40/59) and underwater by 30 points on his handling of tariffs.

By contrast, the same poll found him at +14 net approval on the economy in Oct. 2020.

Devastating numbers for Trump in Economist/YouGov poll:
➡️Economy is fair/poor (71%), not excellent/good (27%)
➡️Economy is getting worse (54%), not better (23%)
➡️Trump (57%), not Biden (22%), is more responsible for it.
➡️62% disapprove of his handling of inflation/prices, 55% on jobs/the economy.

this polling data on the importance of college education is a pretty massive shift in 10 years. by all demographic groups

the implications could be pretty huge
Wow, it’s not just that people think a college education is significantly less important than just 12 years ago - but that change in attitudes is broad, across all groups

Charlie Kirk in 2023: "It’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment."

He was wrong. No child, no moviegoer and no conservative commentator should have to die to maintain this perverted notion of the 2nd Amendment.
