“I’m sure you’re aware of our connections with the Trump Administration,” the North Carolina Republican Party's communications director wrote in an email response to us. “I would strongly suggest dropping this story.”

We didn't. Read the story that he wanted dropped:
“Biblical Justice, Equal Justice, for All”: How North Carolina’s Chief Justice Transformed His State and America

Speaking as a long-time centrist, what in the absolute hell are they talking about? The center of what exactly? They ran so far to the right that they went right of the edge.

"To Trump, Reagan’s composed performance, with its affirmation of consensus, is almost intolerable. It must be discredited not because it is inaccurate but because it represents an entirely different model of what presidential authority looks like." -Jake Lundberg

Why a Reagan Ad Provoked Trump
Canada’s anti-tariff ad was an incursion in the trade war, but there’s another reason it may have bothered Trump.

I’ve said that so many times. I can say after so many years of hearing Reagan, Bush, and younger Bush all described in the same terms as Trump, I pretty much tuned out the Democrats for years. I think that was a big reason people have tuned out the warnings about Trump because they heard it forever.
I like that option.

And this is it's so important to reject nihilism about freedom and voting. This is gonna be tight.
The Emerson poll has always shown Sherrill doing a bit worse than the others, which have her up 4-8 points.

BUT the last round of polls in the 2021 gubernatorial race had the Democrat up 7 and he won by 2.

It's fair to treat this as a toss-up right now, so Democrats need a huge GOTV effort.
👀 NJ GOV RACE: Emerson College has Mikie Sherrill (D) at 49% and Jack Ciattarelli (R) at 48%, with just 3% undecided

Trump is at the Halloween party at MAL

“Official theme is Gatsby and ‘a little party never killed nobody’, we’re told.”

The Great Gatsby is about the ills of greed and immorality, a not-so-subtle statement that “the American dream” is futile.

"And so we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past."

The way he rubs his inhumanity in Americans” face never ceases to stun me.

He’s illegally refusing to pay food stamp benefits…

…while he throws a ridiculously over the top Gatsby party for his right wing millionaire and corporate friends.

I was part of the internal Trump administration team trying to convince the president to end the shutdown in 2018 - 2019 — for 35 days — before people went hungry, workers lost pay, and government services collapsed.

Here’s what I learned: he doesn’t give a shit.
I responded to her before I saw this. I normally ignore people like them, but I’ve had one to many person try to kill people’s hard-won joy lately.

Two years ago, Nick Fuentes was so toxic that, after I reported on a secret meet he had with a top Texas GOP donor, the party was engulfed in scandal and voted to explicitly ban Holocaust deniers/Neo Nazis.

Today, Heritage Foundation effectively said that "no enemies to our right" includes Fuentes.

I’m pretty much in “gather rosebuds while ye may” mode. The destruction of the East Wing is fueling it even more.
Clearly not enough to keep her from being a miserable person.
You don’t know this person’s situation. You don’t know the events in her past year. Nor do you know of what this person does in the way of charity and helping others. But you still felt the need to try and shame her to make her feel worse. This doesn’t make you a good person or help anyone. Bravo.
She seems like a treasure. And yes, I agree with @tacothecat.bsky.social. Do it.

Unbelievable. Especially from a guy who invited the Saudi Air Force to train on our bases resulting in one of their pilots killing three of our naval aviators in Florida in a Al-Qaeda backed terrorist attack and then without learning from that offered to build Qatar an Air Force facility in Idaho.

ICE and CBP Agents Are Scanning Peoples’ Faces on the Street To Verify Citizenship

New incredible detail here: ICE says a match in its facial recognition app Mobile Fortify is a "definitive" determination of a person's status, and that this overrides birth certificates. This is an app ICE is using in the field to scan people
