@scumbelievable.bsky.social I’m dying at this. What a god Mantel is. I very likely would never have picked Wolf Hall up but for your rec of them. Truly you do the lord’s work

Pardon me, but recent scholarship disputes this. The earliest attestations of the legend Eoin Mac Gille Eathain and the Tower of Broken Glass are by monks centuries after Christianization. Whatever connection the legend may have had to solstice celebrations is tenuous and speculative! ☝️🤓

the hardest part of writing politically charged fiction is that a good villain needs to be complex, cool and about as right as the protagonist; while evil people in real life are lame, cruel, childish morons motivated by greed or not wanting to look at minorities

I'm doing first-timer-friendly reviews of Twin Peaks in its entirety for @popheist.com — nothing that spoils anything that's coming. If you've never experienced the best show of all time I'd love for you to watch and read along
'Twin Peaks' Series Premiere Recap: The Departed - Pop Heist
In these 94 minutes, the best pilot in TV history, Lynch and Frost create a world, a liminal place that is singular and inimitable.

The "Larry Summers complained to Jeffrey Epstein that MeToo went too far" and "Olivia Nuzzi committed crimes on behalf of the fascist she masturbated with while reporting on him" are the same story: American elites have no ideology other than "I should be untouchable." Society is run by empty husks

The only pertinent thing about this story is that everyone involved is responsible for the murder of millions of infants and children. I don't care about Cum Poetry, I care that these are serial murderers
Hey, congratulations to all of Olivia Nuzzi’s horny media critic defenders. Heckuva job!

My books do pretty well, but the backbone of my income is from film and television criticism on my Patreon, so I'm a full-time writer, but I'm doing two separate careers.
I know we know this, but authors need to get better at talking about how they actually make their money. Stop pretending it's from the books.

🧵 We are, in fact, doing the thing again for @onesimplewish.bsky.social. In 2024, the kind people of this community put the money cannon on blast to help grant $75K in wishes for children in foster care. Toys, tech, a suit for job interviews. Here we go again! 👇

CHOTINER: The next time the invasion of Valinor and the destruction of Númenor come up, I'll keep in mind that Sauron was handsome when it happened.

AR-PHARAZÔN: He was. Not that that excuses it.

CHOTINER: Right.
