Willson Contreras wrapped up his third season in St. Louis on Monday night. In light of the — however slight — possibility that he’s played his last game as a Cardinal, worth noting that he has more than held up his end of the free agent bargain:

Contreras conversion to first base has been one of Cardinals few highlights
But he’s been shutdown with an injury as the team limps toward it’s weekend finale.

This is awesome, kudos to the TCU marketing department. In fairness, highlighting that Cowherd and Bayless are idiots is a low bar.....

First DVR Monday of 2025 is up. What did we learn about the rest of the Hawkeyes not wearing #11?

Leistikow's DVR Monday: Mark Gronowski aside, what did we learn in Iowa football's opener?
Going back at the film from Iowa's 34-7 win vs. Albany, the defense showed some impressive signs. Also, how did the explosive plays turn out?

I've been a #Hawkeyes fan for 50 years, and a grad for 37...quite sure I've never enjoyed, or cheered harder for a Hawkeye athlete, than Jay Higgins. Congratulations young man, you did it!

Welp. Knew the "all healthy" designation couldn't last, right?
Sources informed Matt Zenitz and I that Iowa WR Reece Vander Zee sustained a freak foot injury and is expected to miss a month. Vander Zee was a popular breakout candidate following a strong offseason and fall camp:
Iowa Football: WR Reece Vander Zee expected to miss month following foot injury
The Hawkeyes were dealt their first true blow to the 2025 season on Thursday afternoon when 247Sports' Matt Zenitz and myself were informed that Iowa wide receiver Reece Vander Zee is expected to miss...

Just saw the Ryne Sandberg news. So sad.

Have to share my favorite Sandberg story, about this picture I took of him with Bill Murray in the hallway just outside the clubhouse shortly after the Cubs broke their World Series curse with a G7 win in Cleveland.

Every year some players go undrafted, only to play their way onto a roster and eventually carve out respectable NBA careers. For me, best players who went unselected this year:

Hunter Sallis (huge whiff not getting picked)
Jaxson Robinson
David Joplin
Grant Nelson
Payton Sandfort
Keshon Gilbert
