I'm getting pics from people around the country, but I can't see any aurora here in Denver proper. My partner is out in the burbs and she's got good pics in the mix here though.

This isn't necessarily the most important thing Catch-22 does, but it was the first thing I read that slammed back and forth between the grimmest horror and the most joyous comedy, and the inconsistent tone was a revelation rather than friction for me.
performative reading, lack of reading skills, nobody's reading anymore -- NO!

tell me about a book that changed you

for me? the *extremely* ahistorical novel, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY which I read at 13 and was like, "Oh, art can be *everything* to a maker, for good and bad"

If the development team involves any sort of manager/staffer structure: a unionized development company.

Man, no team can make me feel crabby with a win like the Eagles. Players seem to like him and that matters but I still feel like
a man with a beard is crying and saying `` he can 't keep getting away with it ! ''

This feels eons ago. I'm trying to decide if I actually think Lost Lace was harder then Hollow Knight + Radiance. At first I'd have said yes, because I was struggling with the twitch reacting to a few frames worth of tell. But then I went to bed and the next day I was countering everything.
Just installed Silksong and I shit you not I tried to pogo off the very first little caterpillar enemy and I missed and it hit me. I beat the first game. I beat radiance and that Halloween boss.

I am absolutely not going back to 100%. Outstanding game. Should be studied academically. But 3rd Act Final Boss had me questioning life and pondering mortality, I legit doubted I could beat it and thought I finally just got too old for hard games. Then I beat it. I'm ready to be done.

I get, on an emotional level, why embittered baseball fans need the moral superiority gambit about "well at LEAST we didn't BUY the championship. With MONEY." But that argument doesn't hold water when your team is 5th highest out of 30 in total payroll, come on now.

Blue Jays were the better team for 6 out of 7 games, including Game 7, and this is just baseball. There is no amount of tinkering with the postseason that is gonna change the fundamental nature of baseball. Blue Jays deserved to win in every sport other than baseball.

Real ones streamed that game on their phone, brushing their teeth with the phone propped up by the sink, setting the phone on the nightstand while they get some water, and settling into bed propping it up on their chest with the sound off because their partner is trying to sleep.

By God, the social media information apocalypse age has all been worth it.

Eagles fans at an Eagles bar in Denver are FURIOUS the Broncos refuse to run the Brotherly Shove vs. the Cowboys.
October 26, 2025 at 9:37 PM
Eagles tried a rushing scheme besides inside zone or zone toss, with some duos blocking schemes in there and a couple counters, and not only does their first rush attempt go straight to the house but they end the day with 2 100+ rushers for the first time since 2013 (Shady and Bryce Brown).

What's blowing my mind about the Platner shitstorm is how unprepared he and his defenders have been for the optics backlash, and how easy it would have been to 1. Get rid of the tattoo long before now and 2. Have a spin prepped about knowing well and growing beyond the crypto- and outright-fascist/

Silksong: I get not wanting to signpost everything, letting players mess around and figure it out. But come on, I beat the Act 2 boss, roll credits, get back into that save, go back up to the boss room figuring that would be what would advance the quest line, beat the boss again, then flail around/

Eagles fan at an Eagles bar in Denver which is 60 - 40 Eagles to Broncos fans: thanks for the shots.

In Silksong, it's pretty great when you're stunting on a boss so hard that you feel like you can spare a silk attack. Doesn't happen often; I jealously conserve for heals. But when I bust a move, it lets me think I Still Got It. Not entirely washed yet.

And Subscribe to Racket.
This is very well written and extremely troubling and you should take some time to read it.
"enjoyed" is not exactly the right word, but i did... devour this piece by @usefulnoise.bsky.social, who spent a day at the big christian MAHA convention in alexandria this weekend:

My parents don't deserve this, and other Philly fans may or may not deserve this, but I definitely deserve this.

That pinch hit AB by Bader and his dead hamstring was the best looking AB the Phillies had all day, and it was a strikeout.
October 10, 2025 at 1:25 AM
The Phillies put on their Vibes Uniforms today and beat up on the Aging Lion of Major League pitching, and if they then don't do anything with the opportunity, if they shit the bed next game, it will be the final indignity that will define this team.

I swear my controller was having problems when I was doing Sands in Silksong, and they went away when I plugged it in. I swear I'm not just bad. (I am bad. But my controller was also having problems).

Just an absolute rake-stomp by the Tomatometer here, I don't know if it'll ever recover from the damage done to both dignity and credibility.

That one trap in Hunter's March has me never feeling safe again, in a way I can intellectually appreciate the design but I fucking hate it. That is Dark Souls rug pull shit, especially after that gauntlet.
