I've released a quick little LiPo battery mod for the Nintendo DSi

Quality cells have gotten harder to obtain, especially in Europe, this uses a 602550 LiPo cell instead.

Spicy take: question and research info you get from people who are purely youtube/content creators, bc I see a lot of bad info come my way from these people 🙃

Still waiting on parts for the board itself, but everything seems to fit well so far

Button covers arrived, the printed piece needs some minor tweaking to improve button feel, but it works quite well

An updated look at the iQube with some @machonachomedia.bsky.social flair. Barring any major fitment issues this is how the final version will look.

This is what the final remote should look like, the buttons will be domes that sit over the physical switches
February 4, 2025 at 10:02 PM
I just need to design the button cover and it should be done :)

Enclosure is coming along nicely

This is what the "release" PCB will most likely look like, the firmware is functional, but needs some work in regards to power consumption, i'm working on designing a housing too

Also, please consider supporting me on ko-fi, prototyping is expensive <3

All 4 variants of the Panasonic Q backplate are up on @pcbwayofficial.bsky.social's shared projects page

It might be worth doing some sort of group buy to reduce the per-unit cost, my discord might be a good place for that discord.gg/TUeFmMXfsh

2 years ago I responded to a Tweet from @shankmods.bsky.social

It turned into an unforgettable adventure

Shank is a great storyteller, and the video he made chronicling the whole ordeal is truly something special

Even if you have no interest in CRTs, it’s worth a watch!
