Key points on the Katie Lam interview: EU SS is a *permanent* guarantee and it is *reciprocal*.

We might add that the whole point of an international treaty (incl. all its provisions) is that it is legally binding.

Her personal view is that the UK can try to renege on the Brexit withdrawal treaty too.

She says whole point of "settled status" is state can change its mind later! (But the entire point of *settled* status was permanent guarantee, underwritten by Treaty, for Europeans here+ British citizens in EU)
