Apparently Athena Studios (a big soundstage+ complex on the northeast side of Athens) is giving up on film/tv production and plans to repurpose as a data center.

Not great! Ill tidings for the local entertainment industry, and for residential power availability and cost.

Its laughable how Trump/Kushner/Witkoff peddle business deals as some bold new way to tame russian aggression, when in reality, it’s the same tired playbook that’s been tried before, each time only fueling greater russian aggression

The problem with that slogan right now, however, is that it reads as tone deaf while everything is collapsing around us and those in charge are looting, cheating, and destroying everything. I'm no political strategist, but it feels like messaging should reflect that first.

Sure, vomiting is allowed (but discouraged), according to the rules of this ultramarathon. Each participant must run to nine Taco Bells scattered across Virginia and D.C. At each location, they must purchase and eat an item off the menu. Drinks don’t count.

In a landmark move, Pope Leo has appointed Cardinal Grzegorz Ryś — a leading progressive voice for synodal reform — as the new Archbishop of Kraków, John Paul II’s former diocese.

This marks a major shift for Poland’s Church and signals that Leo’s papacy will deepen, not dilute, Francis’s legacy.

In a historic changing of the guard for Poland, Pope Leo XIV has appointed Cardinal Grzegorz Ryś — widely seen as “Pope Francis’s man” in the Polish Church — to the Archdiocese of Kraków.

Because that's how the surveillance monster is getting built: guys like Peter Thiel are writing themselves government contracts to slurp up gov data and circumvent the data partitions the law requires

Unfortunately there's little enforcement mechanism in this law.

If we ever get past our current slide into fascism, we'll need a social movement willing to put the gov data monster back in its cage. We'll need to modernize our filing-cabinet-era laws, and we'll need to build real enforcement.

A reminder for those who are not aware: "remigration" is the process of deporting all non-white people from a country. It includes citizens and is, by definition, ethnic cleansing.

And to be clear: this is not fake. I just screenshot it myself.
