From a UI/UX perspective, it's genuinely impressive how bad PlayStation Media Gallery is at managing large numbers of files. They thought of everything to make it a comprehensively unusable product. Any other software would provide SOME viable workflow by accident. But not PS Media Gallery! #gamedev

Do the extra tires make it go faster or slower?
In other news, somebody parked this dodge ram cybertruck on the avenue

Thinking about this some more. Possible idea: Setting up an account that selects a random follower per day, who gets to post whatever they want on the account. (No repeats.)

Maybe require min & max follower count, to reduce scammers & bots. Not sure it matters much though, just part of the ride.
This might be out there, but maybe it'll help us understand social media better. Attention seems to compound kinda like money and you can do a lot more with many followers.

If that's true, do progressive tax supporters think that big social media accounts should try to prop up small accts? How?

Yeah, I'm sorry, but you do not keep the government shut for more than a month and then NOT get a deal on the main item you have been messaging on without completely shifting the blame dynamic.
Major concession from Democrats here is enhanced ACA funds aren’t extended. Preserving them was Dems’ central demand in this fight. They secured a promise of a vote (which Thune has been offering for weeks), but that could still fail. Even if it passes, Johnson has made no promise of a House vote.
Tentative Senate deal to end shutdown, multiple sources tell me & @frankthorp.bsky.social:

—CR through Jan 30
—Approps minibus
—Fully funds SNAP
—Reverses Trump’s shutdown RIFs
—Promise of Senate vote on ACA subsidies by Dec second week (details/outcome uncertain)
—Led by King/Shaheen/Hassan

At this point, i'm sure anyone who's paying attention agrees. There's no shame in realizing you're afraid. But if you're not built for the moment and you don't have it in you to face up to it, step the fuck aside.
Senator Schumer is no longer effective and should be replaced. If you can’t lead the fight to stop healthcare premiums from skyrocketing for Americans, what will you fight for?

Gonna miss these flanking runs from Jordi Alba (5:15). He's so good at timing that he's never surprised or disoriented when he succeeds. It's such a skill to judge how many split seconds you have in these situations and use the time to find an accurate pass. #SoccerHype

With this Supreme Court trying its cartoon villain damnedest to kill the poor, who knows when SNAP benefits will resume?

Looking into ways to donate, these seem like the best options:

1. feedingamerica.org
"98% of donations invested directly in communities" (but might have no location near you).
U.S. Hunger Relief Organization | Feeding America

Noticed 5 new episodes of My Hero Academia are out, so we caught up. Also watched the new movie from 2024 called Your Turn. It had an interesting plot, but noticeably sub-par superpower interactions. Details just weren't as creative or well thought out at several points. Different writer, turns out.

Sometimes i think about how much further along we'd be as a society if smart people nominating themselves Explainers were called out for Poser Poetry more often. Why the fuck does this passage need "indeterminate ex ante" or "pro tempore"? So weirdly desperate for approval from a secondary audience.
"Democracy is a system in which parties lose elections"

They fail to do this every time. It is the baseline thing parties must do in a democracy.

I just wrote a newsletter using a couple emdashes — as one does when writing something a lil more "serious" — and had someone proof-read it. They made a face at each one and told me to switch them to commas just to be safe and not read as AI.

But, but the emdashes worked better... 😔
So AI really killed the emdash, huh?

Bullpen is where the (non-starting) pitchers roam & throw things. Dugout is where the batters sit around & spit things.

They must be kept apart. Otherwise pitchers start developing Batting Sympathy (aka Strike Zone Sickness). Their "stuff" loses "heat" and they start serving up dinger meatballs.
I don't know what the difference is between a bench and a bullpen, but I'm glad it's so exciting.

Oh man, losing on a double play after leading almost all game is heartbreaking. Thought the Blue Jays were gonna take it tbh. And winning/losing in Game 7 extra innings is basically winning a coin flip anyway. It's sad we don't have a better way of acknowledging that. #WorldSeries

It's kinda ironic or maybe just weird that announcers say "This is gonna be a night they talk about for a long time" more often than ever, when there's more stuff to watch than ever, and everyone moves on to the next story faster than ever. #Sports #NotSports

Extra innings in World Series Game 7! Literally jumped up and yelled "No way!" when Rojas tied it. And then Yamamoto in the 9th?? And Rojas again?? And that last catch?? Unbelievable. Can't ask for more.

Dodgers playing the game the right way: only solo home runs or loading the bases for 1 run sac flys. One run per inning max. Respect the pitchers' duel tradition!
November 2, 2025 at 3:01 AM
I, for one, appreciate this ump giving me a truly immersive World Series experience by purely guessing at balls & strikes like i would. Take that elitist looking-at-the-pitch malarkey back to Games 1-6.

Unbelievable sequence of events. It's real dodgeball out there! #WorldSeries

Yesss! Go Dodgers!

Was in the middle of writing this lol: "Well, if the Dodgers don't make it out of this, at least we got to see plenty of late innings starting pitcher shenanigans in this game. Also can't ask for a better scoring opportunity than bases loaded in the 8th."

I didn't grow up watching baseball, so i'm a pretty casual Dodgers fan. Mostly watch socially when the blue LA hats start sprouting around town or espn has an all-time record tracker going. I would've been happy with any of the final four teams winning. They all had cool stories/vibes.

Anyone know the story behind these weird (dead?) heart guys scattered around Dowtown Los Angeles freeways? They're my favorite random LA thing at the moment.

Walking a home run hitter who's having a good day after like the 12th inning makes sense, because your team is showing a scoring slump. It doesn't matter if the opponent scores 1 or 3, you're probably not equalizing in 1 inning.

That said, it sets a weird tone to do it with many innings to play.

I've seen more NY Post links today than any other "news" source. This shit happens every time left-leaning clout chasers find a sensational story to dunk on. Gotta be a better way to set/keep the record straight. We can't keep rewarding the crooked tabloids or the influencers for this behavior.
