Love that movie! (The film does play pretty fast and loose with travel times though, you're right.)
The Pelican Brief is a movie about two people who do research, one a law student and the other a journalist who manage to take down the President in an pre-Internet, pre-Cell phone era … also, a Big part of the film is navigating the pre-cell phone era. (Also they “teleport” across the US a lot)

The decision by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to downgrade its recommendations to protect infants from hepatitis B is a dangerous move that will harm children.

💯 It's a necessary precursor in most cases. The Univ of WA Autism Center supports the validity of self-dx. I've never done an entire story solely focused around the holidays, but they've certainly come up. For Blackout Trail I researched pioneer holiday traditions to consider how the characters might adapt to Christmas in a post-apocalyptic world. #SpoonieAuthChat

Do you ever write stories that take place during the end-of-year holiday season?

It's ok to feed your autistic kid nuggets today.

It's ok to let your kid be alone in their room while the rest of the family is having dinner.

It's ok to let them be autistic without judgment.

They get enough of that from the rest of the world. ❤️

Great thread! I think piece is the crux of the issue. We're caught in a chicken-and-egg problem: no readers, no ebooks; no ebooks, no readers. I have ppb/audio wide, but eBook is AMZ exclusive because KU is almost 50% of my overall royalties. Wish it were different. ☹️

& it’s also not a fucking problem to be eradicated!

We don’t need a cure
The only “cure” is love

Acceptance

I do not want to “Do my own research.” I want to pay trained accredited experts to do the research, trained accredited experts to report on findings, and trained accredited experts to make policy based on them.

I am busy af with my own job, I don’t need to do eight zillion more.

Fall has turned our many forests into a beautiful array of colors. We missed peak foliage by about a week, but it was still cool. Made me think about what my MCs in Blackout Trail faced hiking through Allegheny National Forest. lindanaughton.com/blackout_tra...

Being a high masking, lower support needs autistic person who has a full time job and is married with kids basically makes it so people think your challenges are a combination of poor planning, poor choices, and social incompetence rather than because you have a literal disability 🥴
