"You, of course, realize the need to make stupid jokes and comments is just a defense mechanism."

"Yeah, but it's the BEST one!"
Trump penchant for rebranding has altered the position "Government doesn't work" to "Government works against you."

Let me guess...
It's going to happen in "two weeks"
It is going to happen, sooner rather than later.

There has been a drive in our culture to promote the narrative that being sh!tty to other people will get you further.
We get constant accounts of sociopaths in both politics and business espousing a "money before people" set of priorities.

The irony is, it only works if enough people buy in.

Remember, the same people who wailed and ground their teeth at the idea of "participation trophies" believe a student should get a passing grade despite not fulfilling the expectations on her college paper.... because she cited the Bible in it.

GOP strategist telling the victim of gun violence that the REAL problem is not the ubiquity of guns in our society but is, instead, her husband reminding soldiers of their oath and duty.

Another GOP sycophant reframing reality to match whatever delusion Dementia Don has spewed forth this week.

When they (wrongly) said it was Ozzy encouraging suicide, we had to have a national discussion about what music we should allow in the marketplace.

When it's HAL explicitly advocating for it, there is no discussion because, well, you can't get in the way of tech!

He told ChatGPT he was suicidal. It helped with his plan, family says.
A lawsuit against OpenAI claims that Joshua Enneking, 26, was coached into suicide by ChatGPT after confiding in the chatbot for months.

Remember January 6th?

I assume this is Mullin's "Trust Posture."

Okay, but to counter...

Something I can do is shut the hell up when I don't know what the f*ck I am talking about...

So, I got THAT going for me.
TRUMP: If they want to release my MRI it's ok w/me. It's perfect like my phone call where I got impeached

Q: What part of your body were they were looking at?

TRUMP: I have no idea. It was just an MRI. It wasn't the brain bc I took a cognitive test & aced it, which you would be incapable of doing

The people who grew up in an unprecedented era of economic stability after World War II want you to believe this level of abundance was always the norm, and that it's decline is due to the ethical failings of the generations that followed.

It's a fairy tale and it has always been such.

Once again proposing that this replace every occurrence of Madonna's "Santa Baby" played this season.

Who remembers when Elon and Donald, two people they right have propped up as "job creators" laughed and patted each other on the back regarding how many people they have fired.

They seem to think there will still be a great economy even if no one has any money to spend.

Which is insane.
The alarming trend I'm seeing in 2025 is that companies are quietly laying off employees and replacing their positions with AI.

This means that even if the economy improves, those jobs are not coming back.

So where will these people work? What will this do to our economy?

Hey all there out there in BlueSky land.

I just wanted to take a moment to say "Thanks" for putting up with, and occasionally liking, the stupidity churned out on this account.
Lots of stuff wrong in the world at the moment but taking a beat to be thankful for the people I have in my life.
November 26, 2025 at 10:50 PM
Also true, there are a LOT of very old words that can be used to describe them as well....
November 26, 2025 at 9:55 PM
"There can be no other interpretation..." said the man who has to have 9 different members of the GOP give us 9 different explanations of "What he really meant..." every time he opens his festering gob.

I think this sums Musk up perfectly.

The man has more money than he can ever spend in a lifetime. He has almost infinite choice in how to spend his free time. His idea of fun?

"Make fun of someone's appearance at a party."

Yeah, life well spent, Scrooge McFuck!
Everything about this might be the saddest thing I’ve ever seen

So, of course, it always comes down to the same two questions:

What did the horse know and when did the horse know it.
NEW: We’ve uncovered the first known example of taxpayer money flowing from DHS to businesses controlled by Kristi Noem’s allies and friends.

It’s part of a money trail that’s been shrouded in secrecy—and involves $220 million, a mysterious Delaware LLC & a horse named Gill.

Yes, this is the pattern.

He is going to promise checks.
He is going to convince his base he is signing every check personally.
His staff will tell him in private it can't be done.
He will then say that Biden/Obama/Democrats are responsible for the check not coming.
He will play the victim.
November 13, 2025 at 10:33 PM
I am guessing he almost had her convinced until he made the joke about her "being good with her hands."
One reason you hold a meeting to pressure/cajole/threaten Boebert in the Situation Room is so she can't record it.

Just going to go out on a limb here and guess that Laura Ingraham may NOT be the best person to determine what is "real" and what is not.
Yeah whoever jacked up tariffs on coffee from Brazil earlier this year must be a real bonehead
November 12, 2025 at 6:32 PM
Something about a dude who has been running the same stupid con's over and over again telling the rest of the nation "You people need to learn!"
Meanwhile he knee-caps the Department of Education.

Reconciling BS like this in their brains is a large reason so many MAGA are pissed off all the time.
So Trump says he has to “bring in” foreign talent because American workers don’t have it. I also notice he says “No YOU don’t have it, instead of WE, Americas President is a literal foreign agent

This week, in yet another episode of "I got mine!"
The guy who literally survived a stroke because of accessible healthcare now parrots GOP talking points that healthcare is extreme. Fuck off, Fetterman.
November 12, 2025 at 6:11 PM
Anybody who has ever been of worth to their employer and has ever stood up for themselves will be familiar with this rhetoric.

If you aren't willing to be sh!t on upon people who could not do your job then you are "short sighted", "not a team player" or "need to re-examine your priorities."
Sean Duffy threatens "action" against air traffic controllers who didn't come to work during the shutdown: "I'm concerned about their patriotism."

Not sure which gets me more...

A woman with multiple divorces standing up for the "sanctity" of marriage.

Or a person refusing to do the job they campaigned for and still believing they are entitled to a paycheck.

How does either one of these represent "conservatism"?
November 10, 2025 at 4:48 PM
All the commotion going on around him and Trump stands there like one of Elon's "robots" while its human controller took a break to run to the bathroom...

Oh....OH GOD!!!
