Seeing a lot of negativity surrounding USM on Twitter/Reddit and as much as I can understand that the series hasn't turned out the way some hoped, I'm still enjoying it a lot. If it sticks the landing and it's all collected and removed from the discourse, it will be much more appreciated. #ComicSky

I think I understand what you mean, but also you have to be the first person to look at USM 2024 and say "you know what this needed? Even less Spider-Man" lol

#UltimateX-Men 20 was definitely the most action-packed outing of the series. We finally get the classic two mutant sides battling each other a la X-Men v Brotherhood, but within a completely new context.
The artwork, as always, is outstanding and easily killing every other monthly Marvel series.

Imperial No. 2 was a lot of fun. Coello and Vicentini work seamlessly together on the artwork and Hickman packs the story with with so much action and events happening at once, it almost becomes too much. But in the end I am still enjoying the ride.

UTIMATE X-MEN 18: We finally got the confrontation that was build up in the past issues and while it was a little to quick for my taste, I'm still really excited to find out where it goes next, now that Hisako is finally back from the dark side.
Also, how fucking great is this page? 🤩

With USM #18 out, I did a little reread of the previous six issues. Still not a fan of the monthly time skips, but it really works better in a binge read. Otherwise it's still a great book. The Kraven and Mysterio issues are clear stand outs and Checchetto's artwork is just beautiful.

New #Marvel Comics I read this week: Imperial and Ultimate Spider-Man Incursion. Two big Nummer 1s, but only the former lives up to the hype. I'm immediately invested in Imperial's murder mystery plot and the way all the various characters are being set up (No pun intended)

Jovantore, ein deutscher "Manga" von Daniel Eichinger. Einflüsse zwischen allem, von Berserk zu Dark Souls, sind unbestreitbar aber auch ziemlich egal wenn es so unfassbare gut gezeichnet ist. Die Story ist aber trotzdem recht dünn #ComicSky #MangaSky

I don't think Hickman fully understood how people are going to take that specific quote. Feels like he tried to backtrack a little later, but I've already seen people post that quote out of context and the to be expected reaction to that.

Extra thoughts: Enjoyed the Hickman artwork, even it's hard to tell some characters apart.
The BTS stuff in the back was fascinating.
Him explaining how he decided to start making comics in the end was really touching. Makes sense why he's writing USM. Must BE really cathartic for him lol

Continued my slow journey through Jonathan Hickman's indie work and read his first comic The Nightly News. For a first book, it's really strong outing. You can already Tell what kind of creator he will be and what a clear vision/viewpoint he has, even if it is still a little rough around the edges.

UXM continues to be a lot of fun. It's the most unique comic that Marvel publishes each month and seeing what strange visuals Momoko comes up with every time is always such a delight.
