I'm honestly starting to regret this PhD. It's done more harm to me than I want to count. Nothing like hearing that tuition I can't afford would be a reason for me to be unregistered from my program. Yes in Canada grad students are required to pay out of our meager stipends that I don't have

When Elon was a kid, survival for ALL, the most common childhood cancer, was <10%
Now it’s >90% due to funded collaboratives (high indirect costs) whose work ultimately SAVES THOUSANDS OF LIVES EVERY YEAR.
For other cancers there’s still so much progress to be made.
I think it’s worth it.

So, slowly going to share my story here. Because of how my committee was, I'm having to take more time than initially thought. Guess what? In Canada, you have to pay tuition no matter what. It's a crime considering I'm not even getting a stipend. I thought I was getting out of financial hardship....

I feel so disregarded from my university in the fight on my PhD that I should've gotten last year. I'm still paying tuition (yay Canadian universities) despite 0 stipend and literally my life has been on hold due to all of this. Not expecting much to happen from this post but wanted to vent a bit
