I’ll go further. A child in the library is a patron, and, as such, is no one’s property. In my network, when we issue a library card to a kid, we make a point of telling that kid that no one else can use it *or* find out *how* they used it.

We also are currently hosting gift wrapping sessions with my teen volunteers. A 16 year old wrapped gifts better tonight than I ever have in my life.
Holidays are exceptionally fun at libraries, go check out what they’re doing (or if they have any cute decorations!)

My library offers all this. And an instant pot. And a canning kit. And several Nintendo Switch consoles (standard and Lite). And binoculars. And a thermal camera. And a ring light, a green screen, and a usb microphone. And a karaoke machine. Among other things. 📚
Just a reminder that your local library has more than just books! Many also have dvds, cds, video games, game systems, internet hot spots, streaming services, ebooks, audio books, park passes, museum passes, and so so much more! Maybe it's time for a visit!

thanksgiving thought from your local librarian: start saving your favorite recipes and copying them down physically. get a recipe book. that old website recipe you use every year may one day disappear. save them forever.

Another secret from a librarian: there is nothing stopping you from checking out a cookbook from the library, picking out your favorite recipes, and either 1) take pictures, 2) make copies, or 3) write them down, and then you can just ~*~* return the book ~*~*~
New favorite thing is borrowing cookbooks through Libby! Such a great way to test drive them before spending $30.
