People are roasting this lede, but NYM is actually correct to print it. Toilet paper is so scarce in prisons that it is sometimes used as a currency.

It shouldn't be restricted, for any person, but the fact that it isn't for her (and her alone) is a sign of extremely special treatment.
Apparently, Ghislaine Maxwell is living it up in prison with unlimited toilet paper. Here’s what we know about her alleged special privileges at her new federal prison camp in Texas.

Ffs if my employer was implicated in covering up an international millionaire child sex trafficking cabal I would not be extremely online defending my employer

I grew up in a small southern Indiana town in the late 70s/80s

I was a primordial D&D player, starting in 79

We played in a house with the same stairs to the basement and layout as ST

I talked to my childhood D&D buddy whose basement we played in and he said it creeped him out too

Taking on the legacy inertia of Something Wicked This Way Comes. Fall vibes strongest in the Midwest and in New England, just in different ways. ST S1 was set spiritually even if not temporally in that kind of Midwestern fall.

I hope the pressure and loud contempt towards the @nytimes.com doesn’t let up. The damage caused by that institution in my lifetime, not just through their questionable
reporting but they way they give cover and direction to other American outlets, is deplorable and they need to be held to account.
Imagine our surprise if anyone from the New York times today had said "this is awful and we're starting an investigation into our own reporting and the possibility of a cover-up"

But everyone knows that all they do is circle the wagons no matter how bad the scandal

Everything about this show has made me realise not enough people understand how clever the casting choices in Stranger Things were, including, it turns out, among people in TV.

What really hooked me was that the kids felt authentic. They were just middle school goobers, that acted a lot like kids I knew. They were endearing without that weird "theatre kid" energy.
You really root for them as characters and as young people.

Half a minute talking about Janet Mills.

Another half a minute talking about his actual opponent, Susan Collins.

Fucking malpractice not to mention either "Republican" or "GOP" and only have a SINGLE mention of Trump?

I do the love the bothsides about how concerned Republicans were about SNAP benefits while not doing shit about their President sabotaging them.

But maybe I'm too much of a rube to be 1/

One of the reasons people--myself included--are upset is the lack of transparency from the Times about this entire situation when they've gone on endless crusades against transgender people on flimsy evidence or ideological whim; we can also talk about the Mamdani/Columbia thing or Claudine Gay.
"I'm a rando who prefers to believe that everything is a conspiracy and am happy to tell women that I know better than she does how their literal job works" That a news org makes an editorial decision you wouldn't (or I wouldn't) doesn't mean someone is killing a story on behalf of a powerful person
"I write for the New York Times, and I can assure you that we've never buried stories on behalf of powerful people, many of those powerful people being part of NYT management. We only publish what's fit to print, like Zohran's application to Columbia that was leaked by a white nationalist"

Bill Clinton may or may not (i incline to may) have had women provided for him by Epstein but unlike all those dumbasses he definitely had the basic common sense to break off social ties with a convicted pedophile.
Very funny development that Bill Clinton is not only not implicated in the emails, Epstein explicitly says “nah he was never on the island”. Slick Willie lives again
