Trump is underwater on every issue and voters (especially independents) are fed up with Republicans working around the clock to enrich billionaires while refusing to lift a finger to make life more affordable for the rest of us. Let’s build a blue tsunami for the midterms: indivisible.org/groups

Universal healthcare is a moral imperative. It unleashes creativity. It unleashes small business.

I often think about what Maine would look like if all of my friends who work incredibly hard didn't have to worry about healthcare.

David, I've appreciated our back & forths as you campaigned to represent Mainers as our next U.S. Senator. Your experience & insights as chaplain & policy writer in the military helped shape a unique perspective.

I look forward to what else you may do.
All the best to you & your family.

I bet every Mainer knows a young person or two concerned about what's going on in America.

Let them know about The Franklin Project: "For Young Americans to take our future into our own hands."

The new group is holding their first meeting this evening in Portland.

Grab a family or neighborhood veteran and head to a Pearl Harbor Day Remembrance Ceremony. Veterans are too often overlooked in how much they, in service to their country, helped shape America.

Pearl Harbor Day is observed to commemorate the 1941 Japanese attack on the U.S. naval base in Hawaii. Officially designated by Congress in 1994, it honors the over 2,400 Americans killed, 1,178 wounded, and all veterans who have served the nation.

“To weld their followers into an efficient machine, they demonized opponents into an “other” that their followers could hate.”

Sound familiar? It’s sad that history is repeating itself and so many of us are choosing to ignore it.

Perhaps Donald Trump should sign an executive order declaring June 14 (his birthday) to be National Racial Animus Day.
Donald Trump just removed Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Juneteenth from the list of free entry days at national parks.

They are being replaced with Trump’s birthday.

You can hear Jose scream in excruciating pain as an ICE vehicle runs over his foot while he's being detained.

His family says Jose is a good man, with no criminal record, who works in roofing.

He needs to be released from detention to receive appropriate medical care.

Heartbreaking. The University of Nebraska will terminate its entire Earth science department.

One of the country's most successful and respected geology & climate programs: gone.

When ideologues & politicians are threatened by the very act of studying climate change, I wonder: who of us is next?
It's over.

Despite the fact that the academic council recommended against it, despite the fact that the program brought in more tuition than it cost, and despite the fact that Nebraskans need & deserve this expertise, Earth & Atmospheric Sciences will be cut.

BREAKING: ‘This hurts’: UNL eliminates 4 programs despite faculty, student pleas
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln eliminates the Earth and atmospheric sciences 8-0, educational administration 7-1, statistics 7-1, textiles, merchandising and fashion design 7-1 programs.
