Today Alice made her debut at The Oval! We met @kaybee64.bsky.social , did the rooftop gardens, Dad got conned in the shop, we hit some balls on the outfield and visited the museum and sat in the pavilion.

I'm really gutted to read about Robin Smith. I was just reading an interview with him last week about his drinking issues. looked like he'd beaten them but I guess the damage was already done. A superb cricketer and by all accounts a top bloke too. He'll never be forgotten.

@crickether.com Raf was talking about 5 overs not really being enough for a proper game other than a slog fest. Is this (the 5 over minimum) driven by being reluctant to refund tickets if it was say a ten over minimum per side ? Am I being sinical? Love your views on this...

Off work....Man flu.....Just watching the WBBL.... Pissing down all day it eased and the Umps agree to a five over game ...46 set...With 3 runs needed to win by Sydney Thunder the Umps call the players off and abandoned the game with rain falling once more...It really wasn't a good look...

@crickether.com With the WBBL and the WIPL auction in full swing, it would in interesting to hear your views on if franchise cricket is good for the game with it's pop up / made up / here today gone tomorrow teams. It's good for the players but what about the game ?

I have to be honest and say the weekend was crappy sporting wise. ENG and Luton both got trounced, Lewis is depressed at Ferrari and McLaren were thrown out on a hair's breadth. Also Spoons rand out of 99p a pint Plumb Porter which totally sucked.
