Democrat officials should take a page from Justin Trudeau and Canada on exactly how he’s messaging on tariffs. It’s clear, easy to understand and strong. Why is the PM of Canada so much better at speaking to American’s needs than the opposition party here? I’m sure he will lend you his comms team.

Free messaging & marketing advice for the Dems: instead on attending the state of the union ALL of you should bail, collectively. Instead of attending, each of you hold an IRL or virtual town hall, hearing constituent concerns and showcasing people affected by doge layoffs. Collectively stream all

As someone who spends a lot time thinking about the values I want to teach my kid (besides PLEASE DON’T EAT DIRT), the thing I keep coming back to is this: I want him to believe that the strongest, bravest thing he can do is give a shit about other people—especially ones who aren’t like him at all.

Elon Musk’s Jewish problem
The world’s richest man has adopted an approach to Jews informed and augmented by the far-right, with seemingly contradictory positions that are more consistent than they at first appear.

It’s funny bc at old Twitter we sold over $6 bil in ads just bc our sales team was best in class. This is honestly so embarrassing. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Lawyers at Twitter are reportedly threatening advertisers to spend more money on the platform “or else” Elon Musk will use his connections with Trump to hurt their companies.

you don’t need the press corps anymore — just pull out your phone. AOC did a livestream that spurred THOUSANDS of calls to congress.

the msm wants drama? give it to them. like right now dems should have a fucking PARADE of fired federal workers out there putting a face on all this.
We are in an information war and so far, Trump & Musk are winning. We urgently need a credible, loud, daily counter narrative. The Democrats can & should take the lead using the same playbook as the blue state Governors' covid briefings. My latest ⤵️ 1/🧵

Democrats should fight back with an aggressive, fact-based counter narrative every single day.
They know how to do this, they’ve done it before. The daily COVID briefings by blue state Governors are the perfect roadmap.

I know everyone is coming up with helpful comms suggestions for Dems. But I would love a town hall with recently laid off government employees, explaining their function & consequence of their absence. Get @jasmineforus.bsky.social @repstansbury.bsky.social to host.

The other crazy thing about this is that it shows that Musk and his entourage *THINK THAT WHAT HE DID AT TWITTER ACTUALLY WORKED* and was a good plan.

The levels of delusion are fairly stunning.
Again, it's all right out of the Twitter playbook, as @kateconger.com and @rmac.bsky.social covered in their book. SAME EXACT THING.

Except there he at least had the authority to do this. Here he does not.

A big W for women with ADHD (me) who never got their shit together to do it. My inability to complete admin has maybe saved my right to vote? What a country.
I didn’t change my name when I got married for some very practical reasons but I never thought “so I can keep voting” would be among them
It's not complicated. They're just trying to stop women from being able to vote.

I think an American flag created entirely by black men at the Superbowl is one of the best pieces of art I've seen in my lifetime. I hope it actually killed some folks. And I hope it finally closes the fucking book on the argument that we shouldn't use the flag to fight the God damned fascists.

NCMEC isn't just about missing kids, they run a hash sharing platform so social media companies can share hashes of child sexual abuse materials (CSAM) and do proactive take downs of content once it's been identified.

Defunding NCMEC will encourage the spread of CSAM online.

Evil, evil shit.
New — The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) was told this week by DOJ that they'd lose their funding if the org didn't remove any mentions of LGBTQIA+ issues from their public materials, I've learned. Staff were told they need to deadname trans kids in their reports to comply.
