I want to emphasize that I don't post these comparisons as a gotcha moment to people who may have posted an edited picture without realizing it. I just detail what my brain sees "wrong" in the edit in the hopes that it will help people to spot AI edits themselves if they wish to avoid them.

Once again back with an edit, jikook this time. The AYS photobook promo material was released today, so of course this uncanny edit popped up immediately. (But seriously, the promo material's photo is pretty decently HD to begin with, so I don't get the need for an edit 😭)

There's also a watermark beside Jimin's face above Jungkook's arm, I'm guessing that's who fed the photo into an AI edit software. The first giveaway is the skin. The tone is a bit whiter than in the original, but it's the skin texture (or lack thereof) that gives away the edit. Too baby smooth, too evenly lit. The edges of facial features and the faces themselves are too sharp and perfect. The lips are a tiny bit redder than in the original, but it's not very noticeable unless you have the original to compare it to. There's some faint (and wobbly) double eyelid shit going on with Jimin. The whites of the eyes are too sharp-edged and too even in color, which makes the eyes look dead and doll-like. Also Jungkook's pupil has mutated because it's not actually a circle (if you look at the eye that's closer to Jimin's face; this happens when the original is blurry and the AI guesstimates what's happening based on too few pixels). Jimin's eyebrows are too perfect on an individual hair level in a way no human's eyebrows generally are. The contrast has been upped so the hair is too dark to show much of that usual remini effect, but the edges of the hair are oddly squiggly and smudged in places. Jungkook's ear looks weirder the longer you look at it, and the visible part of Jimin's ear between their faces is a bit scary. In this instance the most visible uncanny aspects are the eyes and the skin (both of these features very flat and smooth and perfect, with uncannily sharp edges). The same photo but this time it's the original photo from the promo material, slightly blurrier and less contrasted than the edit.
