I love kids. I have two of them. They’re amazing. However, kids are the absolute least self aware, clumsiest little puffins on the planet.

Please don’t drive tonight unless you have to, and if you do drive, drive super slow and pay 100% attention at all times.

Happy Halloween! 🎃 👻 💀

REV. BLACK (who was shot in the head with a pepper ball): “If this is what they’re doing to pastors, journalists, teachers, mothers, and the elderly gathered to sing and pray outside ICE facilities… what might they be doing to our neighbors who are behind those walls?”

I WANT MY TAX MONEY PAYING FOR KIDS TO EAT LOBSTER AND STEAK AND COOKIES, NOT PAYING TO BOMB PALESTINIAN AND SUDANESE KIDS AND INVADING VENEZUELA.

Congressional Republicans have 74% of all healthcare expenses for them and their families paid for by taxpayers. They also receive $79/day in food assistance.
“I think most people are going to say, OK, I had a great deal during COVID,” said Club For Growth President David McIntosh. “But now it’s back to business as usual, and I should be paying for health care.”
Republicans Face Voter Anger Over Rising Health Care Premiums
Notices of rising health insurance premiums are landing in voters' mailboxes and sending some to Republican town halls to vent their frustration.

No one should have to put up with this shit but in particular kids should not have to put up with this shit
Indoor trick-or-treat events. Candy dropoffs. Neighbors patrolling with whistles.

This is how Chicagoans are helping kids have a safe and ICE-free Halloween this year: blockclubchi.co/47qJSzi.

Anyway, I think feeding people is good and everyone should have food and if your politics are "giving people food is too political," your politics suck
Actually I would like universal health care please.

Today marks 30 days of the Republicans’ shutdown.

Now, 42 million Americans, including 3.5 million Texans, are at risk of losing access to SNAP.

Enough with the games. It’s time for them to show up and do their damn jobs.

A whole lot of people are revealing their eugenicist beliefs when they talk about SNAP/WIC

As SNAP benefits are cut, this should be something we demand of state governors to do with their states national guard.

Food banks & other forms of community aid will feel the stress caused by these cuts. There will undoubtedly be understaffing and shortages, this is one way we can prepare for this
Now THIS is a mission the National Guard can be proud of. 🙌

The last of the Baby Boomers have yet to turn 65. We will need more health care workers, not fewer, in the future as this cohort hits the peak chronic and high-acuity health stage.
"Approximately 339,100 jobs are projected to be lost in 2026, as loss of income forces health care providers & other businesses to reduce their workforces. Slightly less than half of these jobs (154,000) will be health care–related, while the rest (185,000) will be in other sectors of the economy."
Expiring ACA Premium Tax Credits Could Lead to Nearly 340,000 Jobs Lost Across the U.S. in 2026
Unless Congress acts quickly to extend the enhanced ACA marketplace premium tax credits, nearly 5 million people could lose health insurance coverage in 2026.

who creates the lively art and music scenes if the rent is too high? who makes cultural life? who serves you food or washes your dishes? who creates the fancy little restaurants that draw you to urban living? affordable housing is at the heart of what makes city life worthwhile.

If I've already barred education access via legal discrimination, I HAVE to make sure they can't continue to be the most credentialed and qualified people in the room. Putting the most educated demographic in the country out of work is a start, blocking self-determination entirely is the goal.

I believe that widespread harassment and constant threats of violence have silenced many once-prominent feminist voices in online spaces, and I think that this has had adverse downstream consequences for young women on social media, who see misogyny normalized and promoted to them.

I don't understand why U.S. reporters so regularly seem to let politicians get away with 'I haven't seen that' about stuff a) they obviously know and b) is directly relevant to their job. Did they sign some kind of agreement never to ask a follow-up question?
REPORTER: We know the president moved forward with mass layoffs. We're also learning there were significant cuts to staff at special education services. Are you comfortable with those cuts?

MIKE JOHNSON: I haven't seen the specifics of that and I don't know
