Everything else up till now has been practice for making a submission against this dangerous dogshit of a bill. David seymour has tried this 3 times so far and he's thrown every dirty trick in the book to try and get it through this time
‼️ RSB ‼️
This Bill is anti-Māori, anti-diversity, & anti-democracy
The Regulatory Standards Bill lets judges strike down laws that support Te Tiriti, equity, or kaupapa Māori. It’s ACT’s agenda in disguise & it’s live now

Subs close 1pm, Monday 23 June. Flood the system ‼️

More than 100 years after its initial review that blamed Black men, the Dept. of Justice just released its report on the 1921 Tulsa race massacre

The report says the attack “was so systematic and coordinated that it transcended mere mob violence”

Right! The Oranga Tamariki Amendment Bill submission is done. I almost overlooked it in favour of the Regulatory Standards Bill but Emily Writes made great list with dates & points & I realised I was best placed to submit on it due to my experience with the exact kids that bill targets 🙌
OK fine, what submissions do I have to make FFS?!
Don't worry - I got you. Here's everything you need in one place!

You can still submit on the Treaty Principles Bill up until 11:59pm

It's better to submit something, even just a few sentences, than nothing

A reprise from The Spinoff

Lange "My instinctive distaste for the [radical] proposal has hardened … People are not analysts of the economy. They feel secure or they feel frightened, and that is what decides their vote"

This is a good read, and explains a lot of the political turmoil of the time.
‘Grossly misleading to me and to the country’: the Lange-Douglas letters, unearthed
The meltdown in the relationship between the key players can be charted in an extraordinary exchange of correspondence.

I wish to apply to have this officially recognised as A Christmas Movie.
Nolan can film The Odyssey all he wants, but remember it’s been done: it’s called “O Brother Where Art Thou?”

Been watching the docuseries “1971: The Year That Music Changed Everything” and it’s well done and deeper than I expected. Incredible footage and interviews. Good to be reminded how much competition we have in terms of living in fucked up times. At least they had Aretha though.
