Same with stacking rocks on beaches and mountains. Rocks are where animals live! It also demonstrates a particularly unpleasant arrogance and lack of appreciation for nature IMO

Nothing would get it to inherit the backup. Tmutil said there’s was another backup called xxx already on the machine no matter the name I used.. I gave up and started a new backup. My old one is still on the nas where it’s useless since on the nas all the Mac will do is backup to it or verify.

since Time Machine defaulted to apfs case sensitive and encrypted. I’m waiting on the drive to encrypt with the same password Time machine was setup with.

I copied it to a usb drive and mounted it as a disk image and restored everything. Now I’m trying to get Time Machine to use it without it demanding the partition to be formatted. Updates soon, I hope….

So, over the weekend I left MacOS Tahoe for Sequoia due to its crashing issues on an Intel Mac… I got everything I think restored. But had an issue my Time Machine backup is 1.93tb on a nas. I can backup to it and verify it but restore by enter Time Machine never populates files..
