Hi all. I’m Kell Shaw, urban fantasy author, and I’m checking out BlueSky! I write urban fantasy in my Vestiges of Magic Setting with diverse characters, where romance isn’t the main focus! It’s more about mysteries, found-families and relationships. I have two books out in my current series!

I hate my family and my small town. Except it's bordered by strange mist, and stalked by monsters. My close friends hate me. I'm getting sucked into a dream world that doesn't make any sense. And yet, I get a cool naginata and everything seems worthwhile. (I'm playing Silent Hill F.)

@kellshaw.bsky.social ran Daggerheart yesterday. It took a few combats to work out how it was supposed to work, but flowed well once that happened. The main thing is reacting to the player's turns with your GM move. If they fail, or roll with Fear, you get to react. #ttrpg #dagggerheart

What's the best idea for a quickstart RPG adventure setup?

The PCs are working for the police force, solving supernatural mysteries?

Or the PCs are drawn to a small town by strange dreams, where there is a strange cult and a mystery going on that links them together? #ttrpg #ttrpgdesign

RPG update - I've playtested the Fudge version of the game at a convention, and in an ongoing playtest campaign. It's holding together nicely. Hopefully if this keeps up, I can stop designing systems and get some content out! #ttrpg #ttrpgdesign

Just back from a ttrpg convention where I got to run a game nine times in a row. While my mind is now a bowul of mush, the actual mechanics for the draft RPG worked well! Especially for the late night session, when it’s easy to interpret a ‘Medicore’ or ‘Superb’ result. #ttrpg

Currently mothballed builds of the game include OpenQuest, d6 dicepool, and a few d12 variants (2d12 roll under was getting fairly mature...) Basically, I was designing all of these complicated subsystems I wasn't using at the table, so the lighter Fudge build is close to how I was GMing. #ttrpg

Okay, I've started a new version of my game in Fudge! At least after rebuilding the universe in so many different systems, I know how it all works now. And the Fudge build is progressing well. #ttrpg

Anyone still like/play/design Fudge? After getting a bit burned in my WIP RPG, I found my old blue Fudge book, and started converting my game to it as a mental exercise, and it's working! Except when I told a close friend, he told he hated the 'boring' bell curve of the four Fudge/Fate dice!

Websites for authors - do you feel as though you need one? Do put lots of effort into pages and blogposts? Do you link each individual shopfront to your book pages? Or do you get by with your social media/linktree? Do you maintain it yourself or outsource?

Superman! Saw it on opening night. Fantastic, comicbooky tone. Superman is done right, the cast is amazing and I had a great time.
