Both the Curiosity Rover in Gale Crater and the Perseverance Rover in Jezero Crater on Mars are still in operation. Here is an image of a spheroidally-weathered boulder in Jezero Crater recently photographed by Perseverance. It is NOT an Alien egg about to hatch and latch onto somebody's face.

This uncirculated 1909 Lincoln-head penny on NASA's Curiosity Rover in Gale Crater, Mars, may one day be the last penny. It is used to determine the rate of deposition of dust from the thin Martian atmosphere.

NBC News had NOTHING on the revelations from the Epstein estate. MSNBC daytime is covering it in detail.

Yes, I DO have a background in petroleum geology. I was a development geologist for a multifaceted, multinational oil company where I worked with producing fields in the Gulf of Mexico U. S. federal offshore waters. Than you for coming to my TED talk.
There's no pressing need to drill here, or in the exclusion zone off west Florida or along the Atlantic Coast while existing leased offshore tracts go undrilled and the U. S. remains the premiere oil and natural gas producer in the world.

An oil trade group said drilling off Southern California was of interest. But the environmental pushback would be considerable.

The rare earth elements so talked about exist in coal only in trace amounts, but for some reason the acid drainage from old coal mining operations concentrate them in the environmentally hazardous runoff. Remediation of the runoff that also extracts the REE would be an important domestic resource.
The scarcity argument was so popular, and yet so wrong.
This was the same year "Soylent Green" came out. (The movie, not the food we all have to eat now that the earth is dying.)
