I wrote two travel/memoir books. I edit for a living but I mainly post about dogs.
Oh is this why I keep running into young(ish) American women down at the dog park in the Melbourne suburbs
"In 2025, 40% of women aged 15 to 44 say they would move abroad permanently if they had the opportunity. The current figure is four times higher than the 10% who shared this desire in 2014, when it was generally in line with other age and gender groups."
Record Numbers of Younger Women Want to Leave the U.S.
The percentage of younger women in the U.S. who express a desire to migrate permanently has surged in the past decade.

Tatsuya Nakadai was a truly fucking fantastic actor. If you've got nine hours to spare, there's probably nothing better you could do than watch the Human Condition trilogy.

This week's #lastfourwatched all starred Palm Dog winners. (Dog on Trial wasn't the best of the four films, but its star Kodi was the best of the four very good dog actors)

Quote reply with a cinematic Good Dog

(we've been watching recent movies featuring Palm Dogs winners, but Napoleone as Flike from 1952 is still the biggest heartbreaker)

TESSIE: I have to find a way to get my life back. I don’t have time for the Lottery.

Currently comfort-reading LM Montgomery's Emily trilogy (don't judge), set about a decade before WWI, and SAME. At one point Emily sells a short story to a mag and spends SOME of the proceeds on an outrageously expensive silk dress.

what's that clinking sound? I wonder from the other side of the house...
that's the sound of a metal dog tag hitting pyrex as the dog standing on the dining table licks quite some amount of gravy out of the jug

This week's #lastfourwatched are all from the mid to late '70s:
Two poliziotteschi, an Italo-Western and a bonkers Japanese crime story starring a Good Boy, all entertaining enough but all a tad gratuitously rapey.
