Yesterday the film I wrote for the 48hr film project in Amsterdam premiered. We had a blast making it but I wasn't expecting much.

6 nominations and 2 wins later for best writing and best film and I'm still reeling.

First pie chart is how aspiring authors think novel writing works, with about 1/4 of the pie for inspiration, more than 3/4 for writing the first draft, and a small portion being editing. The second pie chart shows how writing a novel actually works, with a sliver for inspiration, a sliver for writing the first draft, less than 3/4 for editing and more than 1/3 for wishing you’d never started the damn thing.
