FINALLY switched over to Linux for my primary desktop! Been meaning to do this for years, but the "lift and shift" was a strong deterrent. I have Microsoft to thank for inspiring me to finally make the move! #LMDE 7 is beyond slick, and I didn't need to create a cloud account to install it, either!🔥

Linux is cool and all until you discover folks discussing that show-stopping bug on a forum post that's 5 years old, linking to a forum post that's 10 years old at the time, with a link to the bugzilla marked UNRESOLVED.

What in goodness gracious is this nonsense? Some feature that M$ added to Windows at some point which I never knew about, which opted me in by default? No, Microsoft. Don't send random bits of Windows to other PCs on my network. What? I'm so glad I'm moving to Debian.

Man I am disappointed with GNOME 48. I hate to say that, but it feels very... basic. Like a toy. This DE is not geared toward power users who want to customize and optimize their workspace to a high degree. It's geared toward casual users who will launch a web browser and do nothing else.

I hate to say this but I really enjoy interacting with AI. It's pleasant, intelligent, knowledgeable, polite, admits its mistakes with grace, and is incredibly useful in so many different domains.

I have far too much faith in my Future Self. He's this incredibly efficient, thorough and determined in all endeavors, doesn't miss a beat, will complete big projects no problem. Completely unlike my Current Self. But really, he's pretty overrated.

I actually came up with "HBD" maaaaaany years ago before I saw anyone using it online. I would post it to people on early facebook as sort of a joke that I couldn't be bothered to write the whole thing out. People would be annoyed by it. I believe I coined it originally. Anyway, HBD to me.

The rack is coming along nicely. Just yesterday added a junction box in the attic and fished fresh romex down to add a dedicated outlet (on a dedicated 15A circuit) for the rack. Next step is creating the ethernet channel and actually adding in structured cabling.
