In praise of The Musical Box! Such a rare gift to the fans of the early period. I appreciate their rare existence more every time I see them. Curious to know what the original members think about their 50+ yrs old creative output being lovingly honored in reenactment? @genesisnews.bsky.social

@stevehacketthq.bsky.social I've just learned of the Ornamental Hermit era in Britain and how did that the interesting character not show-up on SEBTP or earlier recordings!? What a classic-Genesis sort of figure! Also, a great band name!

45 yrs later to the day, button is still with me, sitting there to remind me to be creative/original/experimental. I remember where I was when I first heard Games without Frontiers playing loudly from a passing car with its top down. I bought the cassette that day. @itspetergabriel.bsky.social

Being a deep fan of a period of a band that I never saw is a bit of an aching mystery. This ramshackle bldg. is a place where Genesis, early 1972, learned the Italians loved the band's music. Imagining that amazing long-ago experience fuels my imagination! @stevehacketthq.bsky.social

Born to synthesize back on the land: one of the lesser- known influences Roger Powell had on Todd; a specially designed hose nozzle for broader watering. Creem Mag, Oct. 75, described the nozzle in this pic as Powell-designed for Todd. @toddrundgren.bsky.social @synthsky.bsky.social

Creem Mag 1/1974, featured a century timeline of the recording industry that had culminated in quad sound. The Quad section features a bong in use-good accurate detail. The role of weed/drug-altered perception in fueling certain developments; 15 min drum solos come to mind.

Creem Magazine AWATS ad 6/1973. Creem Magazine hated a lot of new music and really tried to ignore (or attack) prog & glam music--and had nothing good to say about synths, until AWATs came out and it blew their minds. Todd was described as the best player of the studio. @toddrundgren.bsky.social

Creem Magazine, from Detroit, printed this article on new, portable synths reshaping the sound of Rock music in Dec. 1973. Creem hated prog music and tried for years to ignore it, reviewed some albums w: "synthesizers D-" Unhappily dragged into the future they were. @synthsky.bsky.social
