And I cannot even get into how many people in our community are here because they or their parents or grandparents were being hunted and terrorized in Germany, Eastern Europe, Russia & the Soviet Union.

Schools went on lockdown, people stayed inside. It lasted the entire afternoon. A constant din of whistles, sirens, helicopters, people shouting. Or dead silence.

The viral videos show horrifying events, but do not capture the fact that they were EVERYWHERE and took people from at least 3 separate neighborhoods. This was not a one street, one incident event. It was a military style siege stretching from Calvary cemetery to Skokie.

Some context to the viral videos:

Around 9am Friday, ICE/CBP *encircled* several square miles of a safe suburb and *stormed* it using multiple units.

They were in cars, on foot in alleys & gangways, and in helicopters. They demanded papers, threatened residents, pointed guns, kidnapped people.

My father has been watching a lot of Hallmark-type movies on YouTube lately. I think he would find the Taken movies too violent. He feels more comfortable with the Hays-code era movies, I think, which is why Hallmark movies. Of course, he also watches the old Charlie Chan movies, so...

Prior to Trump, I believe "constitutional crisis" was always framed as one branch of government set against the another, i.e. like the Executive Branch ignoring the will of Congress (e.g. Iran-Contra). The issue now is the other branches abdicating their prerogatives to the Executive.

Whereas I suspect that Mr. Shapiro lays laziness and general moral wanting at the feet of the recipients of SNAP benefits, I would blame systemic economic issues and the widening economic inequality being exacerbated by this current Trump administration.

I have been conned. I definitely believed that he wanted a ballroom because his face seemed to light up about it. But I can see how having $300 million or more just there to tell him how smart and special he is would be more appealing to him.

I wonder if at some point he concocts some fake crime against the judge to get out of it (i.e. try to get the judge arrested). Of course, getting another judge to sign off on *that* warrant seems nigh impossible.
