Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now

Idk. She just won statewide by 13%. Maybe she’s a little smarter about this than Dick Durbin.

The Democratic Party is historically unpopular with its own voters.
Caving to Trump and getting nothing in return will only bring these numbers down further.
It’s a historic failure—and an opportunity to push for changes to the electoral system.

A good caucus leader holds his caucus together & secures enough votes to give one or two members a pass if they need it. A bad caucus leader begs his caucus to give *him* a pass knowing he’s going to lose his primary next year if he doesn’t vote the way 90% of Dems expect Dem Senators to vote.

How do they ask for people’s money and volunteer time next year, with a straight face? What’s the point of having a Democratic Senate? I was a Democratic staffer back in the day and have given a decent amount of money since. My focus is on the House now. The Senate Dems are a useless cause.
Politico says the cavers have won. CR in exchange for fake vote on ACA subsidies in December. Politico at least says other Dems will give them cover. We’ll see. www.politico.com/news/2025/11...

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

You could give Ossoff a pass if he feels he needs it. But Shaheen, Durbin and Peters are retiring. Rosen and Baldwin just got reelected. They have another 5 years. No excuse, full stop.
Sens. Jeanne Shaheen (N.H.)
Maggie Hassan (N.H.)
Sens. Jacky Rosen (Nev.),
Tammy Baldwin (Wis.), Mark Kelly (Ariz.),
Jon Ossoff (Ga.),
Gary Peters (Mich.) Dick Durbin (Ill.)
the Democrats who are are considered by R's as possible “yes” votes for the deal.

I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this video.
I don’t know how we’ve gotten to the point where men in full balaclavas can abduct daycare teachers while they’re watching children.
But I do know that this isn’t sustainable. Abolish ICE. There is no way to reform this.

Hey fellow Jerseyans. Don’t be fooled by Jack Chitarelli. He’s not a “normie” Republican. Those no longer exist. He’s MAGA. Like all MAGAs he’s an extremist, a hate monger, and has an unhealthy obsession with girls’ bathrooms and locker rooms. This is a campaign text I just received.
