Just published, a land-mark paper by Annemarie Eckes-Shephard et al.! It assesses the performance of a new generation of Demography-enabled Dynamic Global Vegetation (D-DGVMs), that attempt to simulate the changing size and age structure of trees in forests.

Farage's announcement on Indefinite Leave to Remain is a travesty. This will affect me personally. My wife of the past 15 years has lived and worked in the UK and paid her taxes all that time.

I’ve been thinking a lot about Salami Tactics recently.
This is the Cold War idea of achieving overall goals in thin slices, each of which in itself will not provoke the outrage necessary for serious escalation.
I think it makes sense of much of what we’re now seing.

I’ve been thinking a lot about Salami Tactics recently.
This is the Cold War idea of achieving overall goals in thin slices, each of which in itself will not provoke the outrage necessary for serious escalation.

To me the Tony Blair institute said quite a few reasonable things but the emphasis on removal over "short-term" emissions cuts, is at best bad choice of words or worst an unrealistic "have your cake and eat it" fantasy.
Well this is a tad worrying..... academic Prof Murphy explains why the Trump administration may seek to declare a state of emergency and end democracy within months.

Agree Tom, I can think of cases where admin support roles were meant to reduce academics workload but instead increased it. Not all admin is bad though, put talented people in the right roles and it can be of great benefit but sadly not always the case.
