man, it's pretty bleak that open antisemitism is like generally inside the overton window now
On a livestream yesterday, Puka both:
- Said that the Refs throw flags that they know are bad to brag to their friends in group chats, and
- Told Adin Ross that he'd do a "covetous jew" celebration on his next TD score

Suspend him tbh

There's a real "collective action would break the system" problem at play in almost any court system.

If *every* small claims collection defendant contested their case with even a rudimentary defense that forced hearings, the system would collapse. There's simply insufficient judicial capacity.
How much of this is "the court system is the same size as it was in 1974"
Extremely blackpilling fact is that apparently, as recently as the 1970s, something like 20% of all cases actually went to trial. Today, it's like 1-3%, depending on which state or federal system we're talking about.

There was a post imagining some kind of chicken-based nightmare plague sweeping France that was stopped only by the heroic self-sacrifice of Gaston meeting that plague with an egg holocaust that was pretty funny.

Not sure it supports a whole dang movie though.
I do not want Gaston backstory, I do not need Gaston backstory, I reject Gaston backstory

he is a fully formed oaf, consuming eggs by the dozen in one of the greatest villain songs ever written, and that is all we need of him

I hate this, but on some tiny level I find this a bit like I found people wearing "Let's go Brandon" shirts or putting decals like that on their cars. If someone is going to great lengths to identify as a soulless monster, I see no reason not to avoid them at least or treat them as such at worst.
Our local news recently reported that a nonprofit is collecting toys for kids whose parents were deported. FB commenters were overwhelmingly negative. Many suggested ICE raid the toy drive and arrest the kids, too.

I hate that I’m now aware of how much of our country craves this sort of cruelty.
this is one of the most psychotic things Trump has ever posted

I'm not even going to repost a screengrab of his post about Rob Reiner but man it really needs to be said every single day: Trump truly is the biggest piece of shit in the world, a man of absolutely no good qualities and seemingly limitless bad ones. Support for him is just so damning.

Fwiw perhaps the one mantra from my youth raised as a righty that has never been betrayed is basically “Chomsky sucks”

Granted it’s weird that *why* he suxks has changed over the years, but dang if he doesn’t suck
Noam Chomsky loves the taste of boot, as long as it's edgy and contrarian enough.
Well, there's a photo I never expected to see in my life. Noam Chomsky palling around with Steve Bannon.

Art. 3 judges have *immense* power and at times nearly limitless discretion. I cannot stress enough how unwise it is to get in a pissing match with one.

Among the questions I've had over the past yearish is when/how one of these judges was going to rock up to the fight and start swinging.
The thing about a pissed off federal judge is that unless you have a majority in an appellate court to override him or 2/3 of the US Senate to remove him - the judge will tell you to fuck off and do as you are told and there is nothing anyone can do about it.
JUST IN: Judge Boasberg won’t back off his planned contempt hearings next week and says the crime-fraud exception would overcome potential privileges. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

When it comes down to it, our “I told you so”s in the camps are really gonna slap.
Conservatives being shocked at the logical endpoint of their ideological commitments would be funny if it wasn't so costly to everyone who cares about democracy, equal rights, common decency, etc.

I'll be cold in my grave before I accept a future where this is acceptable. I'll be voiceless from screaming long after they steal the words from every writer, the ink from every artist.

I will be a version of Boo Radley that never god damn shuts up about how much better it used to be.
look call me a Luddite but this sentence is an afront to God and man
I am biased I guess, I have friends in the industry who are making incredible stuff by treating AI as a collaborator and friend, part of a team that has multiple human and nonhuman members

It's kind of a side note, but this style of pure ad hominem response is so infuriating that I'd favor a Sullan Proscription just to ensure nobody ever does it again.
Q: "Has Hegseth told you why he hasn't released the video of the second strike?"

Trump: "No, he hasn't told me. I thought that issue was dead, I'm surprised you bring it up. You must be CNN…You know you work for the Democrats? You're basically an arm of the Democrat Party."

Counterpoint: the devaluation of a "degree" has hyperinflated the value of a "degree" from a "brand-name" institution.

This is the effect we're going to see in everything once AI-slop becomes the ubiquitous infoenvironment. Hyperinflation of a speaker with trust; Hyperdisinflation for everyone else
See also: degrees have been commodified and devalued to such an extent that their value in the job hunt is no longer equal to or greater than the effort required to obtain one.
I'm going to float this nuclear take: maybe students are increasingly turning to ShitGPT and other deskilling devices because the structure of the modern university has made it impossible for them to acquire skill in a deep way.

Let me paint a picture for you.

I'm increasingly thinking that Rubio and Miller are turning a dial labeled "kinetic interventions in Venezuela," waiting for America to do a Rally 'Round the Flag, seeing no such response, and ticking it one notch further.

Guess we'll see how far their willing to turn!
