Ahead of this US holiday, I want everyone to remember there is a gargantuan chasm between forgiveness & reconciliation, not a fine line.
Forgiveness is for yourself, & only requires your energy. Reconciliation takes effort by both parties & isn't immediate.

Don't let anyone convince you otherwise.

Today's tea: Nutcracker. Today's project: shift everything camera left, so those strappin' lads I'm feeding tomorrow can get all the Christmas stuff down from the loft.

(And maybe write as a respite from the pre-performance jitters)

Today's tea: William Shakespeare.
Today's projects: Alphonse Mucha pillow covers, Christmas cards, & general getting together of my shit.

Hopefully I can get back to the writing for a few days before family descends upon us. I need the routine & normalcy.

It's the small things that bring so much joy.

After the rain, the work continues. Today's tea is Brontë Sisters, and I'm catching up with the new Interview With a Vampire as I stitch. Happy Sunday, everyone!

A starry night headboard cushion. Mood lighting. Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley tea.

Some days are witchy-er than others.

Outside my bedroom window, a war is waging. Robins are ganging up on a bully Mockingbird. I'd love to tell them to break it up, let the robins nest in my old iron plow, and have the din dissipate.

However, the baby is fighting his nap & if I move a single centimeter he will snap wide awake.

Being a Matriarch, a 🧵:

Hubs & I are the heads of our respective families, which totals about 150 people. My grandparents passed way back & I saw the impact of losing a matriarch without a replacement. So as his grandparents began to fade w/no one taking the helm, we were determined to step up. 1/

Anyone else tear up on match day? Absolutely loving this #Rugby World Cup, even when I don't love the score!

About a month ago, I went to a wedding.

Today, I am unpacking from that wedding.

If anyone is wondering just how "on the ball" I am these days.

Y'all, if you don't have PTSD from lovebug season, do you even live in Deep East Texas?

It has been unlivable outside for a week, and just when I thought they'd died down - BAM! Hitchcock somehow got involved.

I guess once they stop swarming, I'll go clean off my car.

Y'all, I have three mürders in my newest novel. Three.

Why did I find the first crime in the document, and the third crime entered TWICE? Where is my second mürder?

In today's episode of "Things That Distract Me from Finishing My Novel", I delve into the world of Scandinavian folk art to decorate an apartment that hasn't even been built yet.

Can anyone relate?

Being a Gen-Xer is busy! Kids are grown but still need guidance (& worry they don't see lol). Grandson needs an active & present Sainted Gran ™️. Parents need help running errands & maintaining house. Now, my remaining Gran needs care & we're finding her a home closer.

Send drinks & ibuprofen 🤣

Me: hey, it's time to write your prologue!
Also me: yeah, and you know what would be cool? If we could make it about Joan of Arc.
Me:...but, the series is about angels.
Also me: 👀👀🤷

Okay, guess we'll add Joan of Arc to the already chaotic mix.

What's the secret to being a good #writer?

I don't know, but at least I'm a hydrated writer!

Well, the new AC is in! It might be 30+ outside, but it's only 22 degrees in my office. And it already feels less swampy.

Now to the arduous task of removing all the mold that started to pop up on shelves & furniture 🤢.

At Mass today, nothing weird came from anyone's mouth (except, you know, Mass lol).

Back at the hospital, an old lady in the lift went on & on about how the vending machine only took cards & how it was a sign that Revelation was upon us (it does also accept cash, but who am I to yuck her yum).

-I create a schedule, to maximize efficiency & minimize burnout.
-Less than a week passes.
-My entire schedule is blown out of the water for at least 2 weeks.

Someone explain why this is okay, & why - when it happens - no one understands where the inefficiency & burnout comes from.

Moved some things around in the office due to an ivy going full feral. I *cannot* wait to get the new AC & paint/reorganize.

Hey, look who took entirely too long to finish 500 miles!

We were the only people for miles - too bad the weather turned.
