Folks who know me know I promote a design approach to services and tech, for better public outcomes.

I run Context Studio in Dublin and we’ve just taken the company off X / Twitter for obvious reasons.

Give us a follow on @contextstudio.bsky.social and let us know what you think of the content.
There must be half a million people who will be disadvantaged by this decision. We need organised protests.

Four-year delay to major upgrade of Dart network 'flies in the face' of best practice
It was hoped construction could begin on Dart+ South West next year – that’s now been pushed out to at least 2030.

So much about how FF & FG have run this country is far from best practice.

This victim-blaming shit again. Rage inducing that this ineffective messaging is being funded with our public money instead of actual enforcement of the law.
👀 Can you see me now?

The importance of visibility on our roads cannot be understated, particularly for vulnerable road users including pedestrians, cyclists, e-scooter drivers and motorcyclists.

This is the kind of benefit the Grand Canal Greenway could bring to Castleknock, if the residents would allow it be built.

So, @kilkenomics.bsky.social was a thing… wish I could spend more time, but it was a good talking the economics of design with Seán Keyes and Ciarán O’Gaora. Huge opportunity for Ireland, if we can get past the “stuff for the yanks to buy” mentality.

Some of the comments from Irish government leadership about immigration lately could make one wonder if violent and destructive “protest” is the most viable means to get policy change.

I don’t see them responding to peaceful efforts on other issues.

I’d love to chat to people who are using power platform (possibly against their will) and integrating APIs (custom connectors) into their workflows. Is it really this much of a faff?

This is a bit rich as a campaign coming from a police force recently proven to disregard roads policing, in a report where members openly admitted same.
Another victim blaming campaign

Be safe be seen. In the middle of an urban area and the middle of the day?

Of the real message is don't use your phone and headphones basically ever.

How many of those 1 in 4 could you even partly attribute fail to the pedestrian?

Love this…
This They Might Be Giants TONIGHT SHOW performance of "Birdhouse In Your Soul" from 1990 remains firmly lodged in my noggin thanks to the Tonight Show Band's full commitment and Doc Severinsen's incredible trumpeting... It took an already great song and made it transcendent.

So @ticketmasterie.bsky.social are a scourge. Chat is off. No phone lines. Complex support form with ~20 fields and the reply asks for more account information.

Meanwhile I’ve an expensive ticket belonging to friend sitting in my app, useless to me cos their “transfer” system is completely flaky.

Someone told me I could register a birth online. So we did. Of course, it’s only half done, because when you finish it sends you to a PDF download that has to be filled in and emailed to get a birth certificate.

If we don’t properly invest in #GovDesign we’ll keep wasting millions of hours a year.

This is message captures more eloquently than I ever have the reason why everyone who knows me is sick and tired of my Denmark references 11 years after I left the country.
7) Copenhagen is the answer to the question “what if you had as much money as Ireland and decided spent it on stuff that made the place better?”.
