BREAKING: ICE is sending Russian dissidents back to Russia. When the dissidents arrived in Russia, the Russian authorities were given documents relating to their asylum applications in the US which under US law are confidential. This seems to be part of a secret agreement between Trump and Putin.

It’s getting worse

Switzerland’s Post Office is suspending shipments of US goods beginning tomorrow, August 26th, due to tariffs.
Night two of counting proves the progressive trend as later votes are counted. Not a good time to be an incumbent
The progressive trend continued tonight in #Seattle. Progressive people tend to vote closer to the election deadline, so their votes are counted later. Notably @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social gained ground against Bruce Harrell. Davison and Nelson lost ground against their progressive challengers.

Tonight’s results, if consistent with historic trends, suggest a strong progressive slate of candidates to beat in November. It won’t be easy.
The only Seattle incumbent that did well, was the lone progressive council member, Alexis Mercedes Rink, with a commanding lead of 75.24%.
Incumbent council member Sara Nelson also had a rough night, with 39.1% of the vote while more progressive candidate Dionne Foster has 53.69%. Nelson will likely be replaced in November’s general election.
As of tonight Wilson leads Harrell 46.21% to 44.86%.

Incumbent City Attorney Ann Davison had a tough night and is unlikely to win the general election unless something bonkers happens. She only has 37.2% of the vote while the more progressive Erika Evans leads with 51.13%.
There are still a lot of votes to count over the next several days, but if historic #Seattle trends persist Katie Wilson will likely benefit from the more progressive later votes and increase her lead against incumbent Mayor Bruce Harrell. Early results weren’t good for more conservative incumbents

A business integral to many business owners around the Hill burned last night as @SeattleFire mounted a long response interrupted by a brief "suspicious device" scare www.capitolhillseattle.com/2025/07/repo...
I’m sad to share these photos from Post Options and Unicorn fire underway in Capitol Hill #Seattle. Post Options is run by the kindest, hardest working couple on the hill. Unicorn was preparing for a drag performance when they were evacuated. Smoke billowed from the storefronts and roof.
