Ask them where they get their news; then ask about specific stories featured in that news source. If they still claim ignorance, follow the advice of the @combatcavscout.bsky.social.
Sure. Or grill them harder. Question their competence. “You’re a US Senator. How can you not know about this? This is a big deal. So are you genuinely ignorant or are you lying about being ignorant? Which do you think is worse for your constituents and American democracy?”
If they pretend they haven’t heard about the story of the day, end the interview right there.

“I’m sorry, Senator, we wanted to get your perspective on this story, but it seems you’re not fully aware of what’s going on.”

Frankly, the only unique attribute we men bring to the party is that of a sperm bank.
In just a few generations, it's gone from "women need you & you'll get one as a mate/domestic servant regardless of how you act" to "women can survive on their own & will only mate with you if you bring something to the table" and WOW men are not adjusting well.
I'm starting to wonder how much "the male loneliness epidemic" is just straight and bisexual women identifying low-effort, mean, and incompetent men and choosing not to date, marry, and tolerate them anymore

I bet Andrew Jackson would embrace him rather than edge away.
This man may be the most racist president this country has ever had, and twelve presidents owned slaves
Trump: "It’s a hellhole right now. And those Somalians should be out of here. They've destroyed our country. And all they do is complain, complain, complain. You have her. She’s always talking about the Constitution provides me with – go back to your own country and figure out your constitution."

Unless someone says something, I won't usually be able to tell in any event so it's best for me to just accept folks on their presentation rather than whatever's on their original birth certificate (like I'd ever even see it).
one thing that is fairly obvious is that the amount of trans people you will encounter IRL is not actually that large in the grand scheme of things

so the enhanced enforcement of gender norms to prevent trans people are just as likely to be enforced on cis women who aren't femme
look, i think you have a right to free expression. i also think you have an obligation to actually look at what zoomer gays think of the rest of the community instead of assuming the astroturfed Tory groups are the real HIDDEN voice of the gays

If we're not at war, Pete Hegseth is a murderer. If we are at war, Pete Hegseth is still a murderer. He's a murderer. And you don't need to go to The Hague to hold him accountable because there are perfectly good, American laws AGAINST MURDER.
My latest in @thenation.com
Pete Hegseth Should Be Charged With Murder
No matter how you look at the strikes on alleged “drug boats”—as acts of war or attacks on civilians—Hegseth has committed a crime and should be prosecuted.

Did Hegseth watch it by himself, alone in a room, so he could have, you know, a “private moment.”
"That’s how a man who lectures actual soldiers about “warfighting” makes himself feel big: ordering the long-range killings of defenseless civilians, and watching it on video. And Hegseth's subsequent reaction has amounted to acting like a huge weenie."

Hegseth's "warrior ethos" is cowardice
He calls himself the "Secretary of War" and plays a tough guy on TV, but in real life he's a major weenie

As the debate about the EU Reparation Loan continues, my question remains the same: isn't it fundamentally wrong that the money of an aggressor state receives better protection than the nation defending itself from genocidal aggression?

It's great that reporting on the double tap has spotlighted the abject criminality of this Administration.

But don't forget: Venezuela is not waging war on America or Americans, and the men killed were not combatants.

The first strike was every bit as illegal as the second.

Mr. Kristol is right but these aren’t war crimes, they are pre-meditated murder. We aren’t at war with civilians at sea.
"We've had lies and stonewalls before. One’s tempted to say first time tragedy, this time farce.

But war crimes aren’t a farce. Congress should investigate them. And a broader war—unjustified, unauthorized, unlawful—wouldn’t be a farce. Congress should stop it."

Show me in US law where drug smuggling is a capital offense.
Reporter: If there were a second strike that killed wounded people, would that be legal?

Trump: I don’t know that happened and Pete said he did not even know what people were talking about. I wouldn’t have wanted a second strike. The first strike was very lethal. It was fine.

Agreed, but how does that accountability work?
Plus, while the President can pardon them from federal charges, they can't immunize them from international accountability under the laws of war.
A presidential memo saying officers carrying out Caribbean boat strikes can’t be prosecuted is a confession the attacks are war crimes.

Virtually every lawyer across the political spectrum identifying them as blatant, unambiguous violations of the laws of armed combat is because they’re war crimes.

Every single congressional Democrat needs to be out there, right now, insisting that Pete Hegseth resign right now and announcing that he will be held accountable for committing war crimes.

If you do not demand accountability here and now, they will only become more emboldened.
Exclusive: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave an order to “kill everybody” in the first strike on suspected drug boats in the Caribbean. After two men survived, the mission commander ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions, according to two sources.

Frankly, Stephen Miller isn’t compatible with western civilization.
This is fundamentally Nazism. The idea that different peoples than the favored races carry degradation in their very genes, that they cannot strive to become better because biology compels them to be worse. It’s not just repugnant, it’s a bald faced lie.
