Resident Alien is a rare TV adaptation that is actually better than the comic. In the comic he's too nice. He's just like, a guy. In the show he's a genocidal squid man wearing a human skin suit.

An absurd situation, we are not a serious country and this government is worse than every Tory administration before it in so many ways it's baffling - until you realise that neoliberalism has only one trajectory (fascism) and it doesn't matter what colour tie it's wearing

The best gig ever was when me and @wretchedmorgan.bsky.social did a mad all nighter at the Edinburgh Festival's 24hr beer gardens, ended up in this tiny wee venue whjere a jazz band was playing, and a really pissed lad in a celtic top shouting "THAT'S WHAT I CALL FUCKIN SHOW MAN YAS" between numbers

I generally loved Wicked part 2, but my one major criticism of it is that in a singular pivotal instance it just isn't as tragic, harsh, and brutal as it needs to be to get the point across, and it suffers as a result. I came away thinking if you hadn't already seen the show it doesn't really work
