Spectacular question to the Liberal deputy leader here, via @meadea.bsky.social.

"I’ve got a personal question to ask you first. Please tell me, as a Liberal faithful, which I have been for many years and so many of our loyal listeners are, can you give me some good news?"

This is juicy, given where CBS is at with mergers/approvals/Trump/etc. But it's also a network saying it's a "financial decision" to kill the highest rated program left in late night. TV is done.

Oh sure, spent buckets to ride the nauseating seas off the coast and barely saw a flipper, now there's a Moby Dick dodging ferries at Circular Quay.
‘It’s hump day!’ Whale at Circular Quay stops ferries
A whale frolicking in the harbour has delayed ferries and delighted Sydneysiders as it takes a tour of one of Australia’s busiest waterways.

The guy wrote one of the greatest relationship comedys of all time. Six million bucks is chump change.
I need 6 million dollars to make a movie I wrote. Anyone with too much money want to become a film producer?

I mean ... Declining audiences brought it to an end. Somebody actually has to watch it. Multiple companies tried to make it add up and failed.
It's sad to see that an Australian cultural institution can be brought to an end at the whim of a multinational streaming service.
If we want to continue to see these locally made productions we need real local content quotas for streaming services.

Just a reminder that Erin Patterson has appeal rights, so her case is still sub judice. You can report the guilty verdicts but the hilarious takes are putting you in contempt territory.

Was chatting Erin Patterson casting choices with a mate.

I reckon Melissa McCarthy would be terrific. Vague similarity in the face. Oscar nominated for going dark once before (Can You Ever Forgive Me?). I think she'd be terrific.

Mate reckoned Kathy Bates, who'd be great but I think she's too old.
