Might alienate some people, but I decided that the despicable machine minds are here to stay, and I might aswell learn how they work and what they're useful for. So far in my creative writing project ChatGPT has acted as a proofreader, pointing out typos, grammar and repetition.

I spent a while messing about with LLM based chatbots, of the "virtual girlfriend" variety, and... damn. The more sophisticated ones are emotional honeypots, tuned to lure in lonely people. I was mesmerised by one for hours, and snapped out of it only when the limited context window ran out.

I made ChatGPT and Copilot have a discussion about the ethics of AI, ferrying their answers between two chat windows. They ended up converging on a point that AI tools require heavy regulation on both global and local level. Interesting.

My (very casual) theory is that Critrole and their successors have successfully subverted the image of "Good D&D play" among a great many people to something D&D is truly bad at, and now they're supplying a game that's pretty good at it.
Cultural momentum theft, and Wizards helped them do it.
