Today’s my birthday - here’s a look at my comic art that I both shared and made this past year 💗 It’s a nice reminder seeing that I did more than I tell myself (at least in my moments of laziness 😅)🖌️🙌🏻🎨
I got to play test this game and it’s super clever and fun 🦾🧩

If you ever want to see more of something you read but don't feel like you can do anything about it because you're not an influencer or a publisher or a journalist, even just leaving a five star review online moves the needle. Even telling a friend "you'd like this too"!

I've been quietly working away on my debut graphic novel, a story 8 years in the making, and very dear to my heart. As the book gets closer to completion, I plan to share more of my process and this world with you. Until then, an offering...

Are you makings zines yet? Are you teaching other people how to make zines? Are you proselytizing about the good word of zines?

I've finally updated my website with all of my zinemaking worksheets available to download & use for free. You can find them linked here:

I am once again begging big 5 publishers to invest in rebuilding book media by starting their own newspapers/journals/magazines. That plus helping keep indie bookstores open would do so goddamn much for the industry
I will never stop banging this drum -- publishers (honestly anyone distributing creative work rn), need to try something new! bring back the atrophied part of their marketing brains that involves something other than "post through it"
In all seriousness, publishers are going to have to figure out how to market books in the post-social-media landscape. That should be an implicit part of their job. What authors/artists can do on their own is increasingly limited and siloed.

This is hugely important: If you use the Atlantic's author search tool, a TON of comics don't come up because they don't have creators listed. I just found like all my comics work looking directly and it sucks. So, make sure you're very thorough in your search.
I searched libgen itself, and it turns out they have almost every book Iron Circus has ever published. They don't show up in the Atlantic Search because they were uploaded without author names.

@ironcircuscomics.bsky.social authors could help destroy them singlehandedly.

Self-publishing is a power, it's a gift. You can put whatever you want into your little 'zines and minicomics, absolutely nobody can tell you no. Tell your story, don't worry if it's "good enough", make it anyway.
