A twitter refugee like most of you. Hoping for a better country but now skeptical we'll see that in my lifetime. Data security by day, trying to make sense of the world by night (and sometimes during the day, too).

If Johnson mentions too much detail in public, an app on his son's phone sets off an alarm.
Particularly with Musk, but with all billionaires, I think they love some vague idea of humanity informed by sci-fi, and despise actual living people. They couldn't care less if any actual person suffers or dies so long as they can fantasize about "humanity" amongst the stars. It's deranged.
Kind of a weird strategy to appeal to the left and center by cozying up to a fucking Cheney LOL.

I don't know, maybe Dems should appeal to... Dems? Think the base may be a better target? But that would have meant taking some uncomfortable positions, so here we are, I guess.
A concerted nat'l message of "eventually we will be through this. And we promise you full truth and reconciliation, only after we prosecute every one of these traitors."
Someone should tell Trump that Christians are being attacked daily in the US. I'm sure he's sincere in his belief and not at all a dementia-addled racist who enjoys other people engaging in violence on his behalf.
As the world untangles itself from dependency on American markets and capital, I hope they also begin issuing warrants for every member of the Trump regime. They should never be allowed to travel internationally again without facing a significant risk of arrest and trial.
Yeah, the appeal was "reasonable Republicans" and... how did that work out? There is no pro-Cheney-Harris wing of the Repub party LOL.
It was an appeal to *Republican voters*. You can say it was "middle ground" voters, but they were still Repubs. You know, the people who literally think Dems are not legitimately allowed to govern.

Sorry, but it's just crazy to think there was some untapped *Liz Cheney* constituency LOL.
Yeah, that's my point. They were reaching out to people who *actively support* the Repub party, at the expense of the Dem base.

Sorry, but the idea that there is/was some significant part of the Repub party that was gonna vote for Harris... LOL.
If Dems truly thought Repubs were existential threats, why were they still trying to win their votes?

And it continues to this day with the number of times Dems vote for Trump nominees.

This is not a party that truly believes the other side is evil. They just want it toned down a bit.
To be fair, this argument is a bit undermined by Harris focusing on campaigning with Liz Cheney. Also by the Biden admin's tepid approach to prosecuting Trump (yes, yes, there were "institutional barriers", which Biden assured would prevail by choosing Garland.)
Rich people losing .001% of their wealth, or of facing the mildest of rebukes, scares them far more than regular people fear being assaulted by cops/ICE during a protest. Tells you all you need to know about the character of rich people.
I think service workers know people hate it and wish it weren't so, but they also are victims of the system. I, too, press whatever number they want pushed (I usually select the highest % tip because I'm fortunate and want to be generous while I can be.)
Industry very much follows this model, too. People who's main skill is convincing others of their genius, no matter how disconnected from reality.
His post looks like something chatGPT would spew.
Any company named after LOTR should be immediately disbanded, and every exec involved in choosing the name should face life in prison.
For the last several months I've often thought about how unsustainable it is for the US to be in a perpetual state of "core government functions will only operate to the extent lengthy court cases decide hyper-specific things."

I know this is the Trump team plan, and it's fucking treasonous.
"I don't understand anything about this, but I'll confidently reply anyway." LOL
The major (and only meaningful) difference being the worst people in tech aren't imagining the dishwasher turning into their personal sex robot.

I mean... that's what's driving every one of these guys developing these things, isn't it? Their dreams of a sex robot.
Having a hard time deciding what's worse. That he knew it was a nazi icon and liked it (or didn't care. Same.), or that he was too stupid to know what it was when it's obvious.

Doesn't actually matter, because even the best case scenario (stupidity and lack of interest) is almost as bad.
Probably because you either knew you had a nazi tattoo and liked it, or you were too stupid to know what it was (when it was obvious)? One of those things?
We would likely be reading about that Dem congressperson being taken away in handcuffs.
It's been so crazy seeing people say how they feel sorry for her, equating her to a working class wife who doesn't have options. It's sickening.

Vance is now the man she married years ago. She knows what he is, and obviously is fine with it. She deserves every ounce of scorn as much as he does.
I often think of a few years ago when we'd see videos of masked Russian secret police violently kidnapping people off the streets, and Repubs would scream "this is what tyranny looks like! You are only free in America where this would never happen!!" Of course, Repubs now love this behavior.
