Maybe I'm just not good at social media, but - this week alone - I've had to stop myself from replying 'What that pizza needs is some pineapple' nearly a dozen times.
Last week it was The Beatles' 'Fool on the Hill'. This week it's Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons' 'The Night'. I don't think this ear-worm thing is going to fix itself.

Several new spreads in my Reading Journal. A couple of which were the 'Oops! Forgot to include the book cover, again' sort, so I had to jury rig stuff. Btw, is it 'jury rig' or 'jerry rig'? 🤔

New video and I was in rare form. Likely because I got to talk about a couple of my favorite things: food and playing the 'elder' card.

Several early November reads/spreads. It's been a good reading month, so far.

Kokuho Rose was my Japanese mother’s go-to brand. This brings up memories of growing up in an Asian-American household and eating rice with nearly every meal. Our old school one-button rice cooker sure got a workout. Man, I miss my mom’s Hamburger Rice and Onigiri.
Recommendation: this rice. We get big bags of it at the Asian grocery nearby. It is incredibly good and easy to make.

N.B. I am not paid to promote this, either with money or rice. But I’d take either.

This has been Bill’s rice recommendation. Good night.

I'm halfway through VICTORIAN PSYCHO by Virginia Feito. And I can't decide if four-page-long chapters please or annoy me.

Breakfast dreams are the best dreams.
I very rarely eat breakfast but for some reason I dreamt about this, this morning.

It was good but not as yummy as it was in my dream 😅

My reading journal is chugging along.

Btw... not that I'm geeking out or anything, but I'm now using a binder/trading card sleeve system to keep track of my 'Want to Read' list and LIBBY holds. It's easy to rearrange according to my moods. I've also gone with index cards for tracking series.

With inks - as with people - subtle sheeners are delightful.
Because I haven't posted enough fountain pen geekery lately... ;)

This week I added to my growing hoard of Octopus Fluids mythic sheening inks by getting Sea Serpent. I love it! Its sheen is more subtle than some of the others in that line, but in the right light it's fantastic, & it flows SO well.

I've finally - FINALLY - finished my 'Mijello Journal' watercolor series. And it's glorious gosh darn it. I didn't feature every color in the 34-color set. I curated only enough to fill the sketchbook - which turned out to be 25.

Full flip-through at the end.

Even though we didn't get trick-or-treaters last Halloween, we have candy to hand out. Looking forward to enjoying it over the next week.

I'm consuming twice as many books as anticipated. Original goal was one per week. Total for this month = 9. Probably because the LIBBY app makes it so easy.

You know those pics I've been posting from my reading journal? I've uploaded a video where I talk about the process involved in creating those spreads. I also share some thoughts about the books I've been reading - including my most recent read, The Last House on Needless Street by Catriona Ward.

Two new entries in my Plotter fountain pen ink journal: Diamine's 'Velvet Emerald' and 'Glacier'. The paper is Sanzen's Tomoe River (68gsm). I'm using a Pilot parallel pen, a Kakimori brass nib, and a small round brush for these spreads.

A groovy (that's still hip, right?) new video is up. I play with watercolors, talk about heavy metals, get distracted by books, and reminisce about childhood mealtimes.

After reading several gloomy books in a row, I had to lighten up a bit. Have I mentioned how much fun I'm having with my first reading journal?

My critical eye is being unkind about that painting on the right. Regardless, it's another entry in the Mijello watercolor journal. Only one spread left to go!
