I currently live in San Diego, a very car-centric city. I don't own a car. People are amazed & wonder how I get by. I say I walk/bike/bus/trolley. They're impressed but don't ultimately get it. When you walk or take public transportation, you can look around & be connected to the world around you.

I would love for them to expound upon exactly what "culture" they're talking about. Because there's no one that hates dominate forms of American culture like the right.
