Another pedestrian killed in Asheville, and the police claim that more LE officers could have prevented it. This is a refusal to admit that the roads are deadly and need a redesign. Also, speed cameras are way more effective if you are trying to slow drivers. youtu.be/syF7Ym8GJb4

In recent years, USDOT has published many documents supporting automatic speed cameras, which consistently reduce crashes.

Under Trump, those docs are being rescinded or removed from USDOT's website.

Here's an example (rescinded May 25, apparently):

I have more questions about this crash, but looking at a map, crosswalks on this road are over a half mile apart. NCDOT builds roads deadly for walking. Automakers build deadly SUVs. In our contributory negligence state, I would find these guilty as well. www.msn.com/en-us/news/c...

OMG.This is the Secretary of Transportation.
Duffy: "If you're liberal, they want you to take public transportation ... the problem is that it's dirty. You have criminals. It's homeless shelters. It's insane asylums. It's a work ground for the criminal element of the city to prey upon the good people."

When my mom passed, my siblings & I looked at her marker next to my dad's. My sister said, "It doesn't look right." I said, "They used the wrong typeface." We made them redo it to match the one we had requested. (Did they think we wouldn't notice? Not sure, but as a book designer, I definitely did)

If we had to accommodate this many cars in @carrboronc.bsky.social, we would build a parking lot twice this size with lots of impervious surface. Here, it has been accomplished in a smaller, unpaved lot, with an attendant double parking cars and moving them as needed.
