I have been to most of these, but this year it clashes with the autumn WG21 committee meeting (we do publish dates far in advance, but sometimes hotels don’t have the availability). It truly is a worthwhile conference: do consider putting some of your training budget there. Say hi from me to Berlin!

I’m very sad to report the passing of Rainer Grimm. I can’t possibly say how great a contribution he made to the C++ community; fortunately, his blog can.

I've just written another review; this time I'm looking at the title Asynchronou Programming with C++ by Javier Reguera-Salgado and Juan Antonio Rufes.

It's a good summary of the state of things. Worth your time.

I am making an attempt at the ABRSM piano diploma, particularly the ARSM in Music Performance. First job: compile playlist of the repertoire. There are fourteen tracks missing (please help if you can) but at a shade under 22 hours, it's good listening, if a little jarring thematically!

In other news, my beard gets checked separately at airport security now. So that’s unusual.

Hello Sofia! I’m here for WG21 at the Grand Millennium Hotel. I have just discovered that the restaurants have a range of dress codes. Will report back: sartorial elegance is not the committee’s core competency.

I love a bit of thoughtful writing; I did a philosophy contextual with my maths and comp.sci degree. This reads rather well, particularly the section about standpoint theory, objections to which I have never been able to satisfactorily articulate.
