It’s almost like we don’t even know what to say about the amount of money being given to ICE in the bill for fear that our friends and neighbors will all say, great we love that. I find it nauseating, like the fact that my country is doing this to people actually makes my stomach churn.

All trump and his administration want to do is literally get away with murder and we’ve let him get away scot free after killing people before so I can see why he might be confused about what the hubbub is all about then

I recently learned some students run their writing through AI detectors and then rewrite the parts that get “detected” as AI.

Having been among the clobbered here, I am seeing positive, if slow, results—but only thanks to the dumb luck of having paid for extremely high-end insurance. Others in my orbit are not so lucky.

I did not previously understand how long disaster recovery takes, despite thinking that I did.

Had similar observations on my (very slow and careful) bike commute this morning.

Funny having a mayor campaign around snow removal and then not change anything
The streets are WORSE today, at least in some neighborhoods including MPOW's, where there are multiple elementary schools but the streets are an even worse ice skating rink than the last two days! My colleagues are out trying to help multiple stuck school buses. #stlwx #salthedamnstreets

Things that are actually bad to do while driving in the snow but I hardly ever see anyone complain about: following too closely. Some jerk was tailgating me earlier. No I’m not going to go faster just because you want me to. I drive a Subaru and lived in Ohio for 12 years and I know what I’m doing.

The only reason you wouldn’t know why you had an MRI is if it had something to do with your brain. Otherwise you would know.

I actually did think that they would plow the streets within an hour of the snow falling since it was predicted. Hahahahahhahahahhahahaahhahahahahhahahahaah. Especially on the highways. Hahahahhahahahahhahahahahahahah. #stlwx or do something.

Annual reminder that it’s called Cyber Monday because we kind of didn’t used to have internet at home, at least not high-speed broadband. So you’d spend the morning at work, on your “lightning fast” 1.5Mbps connection, exercising the still-new novelty of buying stuff online.

I have spent today emailing and putting up Christmas decorations. More to come. Mostly of emailing though.

Lol yes people in history have had MRIs they don't know what they're for - people whose brains are mushy enough they don't know what's happening
Walz on calling for Trump to release MRI results: "Here we got a guy on Thanksgiving where we spent time with our families, ate, played Yahtzee. This guy is apparently in a room ranting. It's not normal behavior. It's not healthy. Has anyone in history ever had an MRI & had no idea what it was for?"

Waiting 25 minutes for food @tacobell.bsky.social I feel like the system should prioritize people who walk in and order over giant doordash orders but what do I know. Won’t bother again.

It’s nice to see the house back in session so they can waste their time voting on stupid stuff again. Unrelated Mamdani isn’t a socialist. They do know that right?

I have a feeling they aren’t going to be releasing any files about Epstein.

We could spend years demanding a list be released, or we could just believe women…

Hey so “underage girls” are…children. The word you’re looking for is children. They’re not like, women-in-waiting or women-lite or whatever. They’re children. I think some of you are very uncomfortable with what that means for you but it is still true.

I work with kids. And they are unmistakably kids, completely independent of where they are in their physical development. It is not necessary to imply that someone like Epstein was somehow less of a monster because of puberty.

It is true that there is a difference between someone who preys on prepubescent kids vs. someone who preys on postpubescent kids, but you need to realize that bringing this up every time we're talking about someone who preyed on postpubescent kids sounds a LOT like you defending predation of kids.

Like I dunno, maybe the reason it took a lady to break open the story of all the men protecting the dude trafficking underage girls is because the male journos were all emailing him making jokes about it?

A friend of mine responded to someone who posted with cynicism about the latest Epstein email:

"Whether the president is a child rapist can never be a moot issue."

We all need to sit with that sentence for a minute.

Momentum builds for new leadership!
Now is the time to fight, not surrender. 🗣️

Schumer must step down from his post as minority leader and allow for new leadership to emerge—someone who is willing to consistently fight for the American people.
Progressive group MoveOn calls on Schumer to step aside
"Inexplicably, some Senate Democrats, under Leader Schumer's watch, decided to surrender."

We had an absolutely gorgeous fall day on Saturday. The sun was shining, the leaves on the trees were a variety of beautiful colors. I had ONE small thing on my calendar, a two hour morning rehearsal, and then, the day off! I made a corn casserole for a neighborhood event (yes, our neighborhood has events)--we had a chili cook-off, and while I did not enter a chili, I made a side dish.

We have protested. We have voted. We have made clear what we stand for. Shame on the Senate.
What is happening in the Senate tonight is a travesty and betrayal for every person who depends on ACA subsidies.
