Just in time for my favorite season of the year, here's "11 things I've learned about being a ghost."

It's about house hauntings, our relationships with folks who've passed on, and ways we can heal.

Check it out here: open.substack.com/pub/graymora...
HE HAS USED THE TUB BOX FIVE TIMES. Progress.
I'm collecting data on all three theories:

1. I mostly emptied two boxes for a smooth surface, one on the floor & one in tub. He's used the tub box three times.

2. I put a camera near the boxes. Sister has hidden by a box to swat & hiss at him once so far.

3. He's not 100% averse to box pooping.

You have to understand what pieces like this from the NYT are and are not.

They are not an honest assessment of the state of politics today.

They are a negotiation tactic—an effort by a calcified, right-leaning legacy institution to steer the discourse in a direction more palatable to elites.

If you, like me, think matcha tastes like grass (because it does), you should try hojicha. It's roasted tea, it's delightful as a latte, and it's a happy medium between coffee & hot tea.

Baltimore has SO MANY gorgeous historic buildings and many (most?) of them are not as well cared-for as this one was before tonight. We're not sure what to say other than to be CAREFUL this fire season, and that careful & sustainable historic preservation matters
The Baltimore City Fire Department is on the scene of a three-alarm fire in Hampden, in a historic building known as “The Castle.” www.thebanner.com/community/lo...

Sorry Nate, leftists don't burn resources like clothing just because a brand did a fucked up thing. We just stop buying from the brand. It's your camp of MAGAts burning shoes and pouring out perfectly drinkable beer. That Budweiser thing over Dylan was a goddamn intellectual tragedy.
the hipsters, they’re ordering double frufru mocha soy frappuccino. doesn’t anybody order a black coffee anymore

An agreement to agree to do a later vote is NOT an enforceable contract so what in the actual hell are Americans getting out of this deal??

Normally I'd be concerned but these are Chernobyl dogs so I'm pretty sure they'll survive being blue.
Some of the stray dogs living near Chernobyl have recently turned blue. This confused scientists for weeks, until they realized they had simply been rolling around in chemicals from a nearby set of portable toilets. 14/10 for all

all electoral ideas take a hike

because the only thing we can do to solve this is massive non-participation in society at large xoxoxo

I'm gonna get a friend to help me demonstrate the importance of this PSA. Like this legit pisses me off lmao and it's so easy to avoid in leash training. 🤦
PSA: If you don't train your dog NOT to weave behind you while they're on a leash, leading to them lassoing and tripping me while we're walking, I kinda hate you.

Senators on the brink of retirement who lived full, wealthy lives and never feared the loss of their own healthcare voting for their constituents to die from their inability to afford the same is treasonous

I am running an experiment with my cat. He's one of those who mysteriously prefers pooping in the bathtub. So we're going to figure out why.

Watching this HTGAWM episode about a child kidnapped by ICE to lure out his undocumented mother is...rough. This episode came out FIVE WHOLE YEARS AGO, and we still haven't done shit to meaningfully stop this in 2025.

Not every electoral win under capitalism is a victory for Socialism, but it can still be a crack in the ideological wall.

Mamdani’s election doesn’t mean Socialism will be achieved through the ballot box, it just means decades of American Cold War propaganda are finally starting to lose their grip.

I finally stopped my dog from eating the cat litter. It's pine pellets, so it was fine medically, but it was absolutely disgusting and the surplus fiber was causing a surplus potty problem. Thank you, Door Buddy. Bless you.

It's never too late to grasp that if someone works full-time and receives SNAP, it means YOUR taxpayer dollars are subsidizing the COMPANY because it refuses to pay them a livable wage.

Neglect is cruelty. That's why it goes hand in hand with abuse.
The experience of having a baby in Canada — with healthcare, maternity leave, and subsidized daycare at $9 a day (Quebec) — really made the lack of social supports in the US feel downright cruel.

Everyone knows about healthcare but there’s so much more. It’s genuinely sad.
A couple weeks ago a friend was telling me about someone she knew who had been on maternity leave, and said she had taken "the full year." I said, "A whole year? Wow, what kind of fancy job does she have that gives her a YEAR of leave?" and my friend looked surprised & said, "... welcome to Canada?"
