Gay eurodisco is one of my biggest guilty pleasures- so I was shocked I’d never heard “I’m a Man Who Needs a Man” by who other than GAY MEN. I need a shirt with that VHS logo

The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste
Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.

I think Hollow Knight Silksong is the hardest game I’ve ever played. Prior to this, it was maybe Cuphead? Or Castlevania 3? I’m not sure I’m going to ever beat it.

Aaaaand after a brutal 12 hour shift I’m going to play more Silksong 🤣 I’m a glutton for punishment, apparently

This week fucking sucked but customers were at least really nice yesterday. Not counting two who rammed carts into the ladder I was on, and one who tried to start a fight because a women “walked in front of her” wtf

As a survivor of the Tulsa Race Massacre, Viola Ford Fletcher bravely shared her story so that we’d never forget this painful part of our history. Michelle and I are grateful for her lifelong work to advance civil rights, and send our love to her family.

This is a fantastic breakdown of why films feel less immersive (a lot of TV falls into this trap by extension). The only issue I had was that Avatar makes me want to gargle bleach with my eyes.

I love film theory so much.

Natural Snow Buildings kind of morning. Feeling the daily futility of our forced march through dystopia.

Tatsuya Nakadai was so incredibly gifted. Rewatching Sword of Doom right now and the nexus of Shakespearean tragedy with quasi-noir doom wrapped in dance-like menace is just unworldly.

I love how charli xcx & John Cale’s collaboration brings out the best of each other’s art, while Metallica & Lou Reed’s collaboration showcased the absolute worst.
